Festool Recon Topic (compiled)

I noticed they are also playing with prices.  The BHC with batteries is 30% off, the Vecturo is 35% off list.

The Vecturo has also been discontinued for 2 years, maybe that plays into the pricing.

Vecturo not discontinued here. Still on website and on shelves.

Where is "here", [member=72399]CeeJay[/member] ?  I think Cheese may have been referring to the fact that the *corded* model of the Vecturo has been discontinued in North America.  The cordless is the only model still for sale in North America, OSC 18, in all of its variants.

There was also a CXS-Set (with the right angle adapter) up earlier this morning right before the Vecturo.

Looks like the cordless Vecturo is only 20% off; no battery or charger, but all of the rest of the accessories.

Jigsaw TRION PS 300 EQ-Plus just posted.

Wonder what the build date will be on this one?lol

I do not know.  I purchased a PSBC 420 top handle jigsaw early this year from Recon and it was manufactured in 2013.  I was surprised it was that old, but I purchased the Basic model, without batteries, so was not TO concerned about the age.

so was not TO concerned about the age

I fault- it should be TOO concerned.  Glad my wife does not read these.

The Trion PS 300 EQ is still listed on Festool USA's website, sold in a Gen3 Systainer; it could be as young as only 2 or 3 months old, honestly.

Either all three of the tools that were listed sold through, or they decided to pull them for the time being.  My guess is on the latter.

Poor, unloved BHC 18, corded PSB, and corded Vecturo...

If anyone has bought anything from Recon in the last few days, have you received any shipping notification?  I bought an item Thursday, May 20th, placing the order before 8 AM, and the order was confirmed, but nothing showing it has shipped yet, as of Monday May 24th 4 PM.  I like to keep an eye on my doorstep but my eyes are getting tired.

Yes I've purchased Recon tools and have always received updates and notifications of shipping  ETA ( estimated time of
arrival)

My last purchase was a C18 set  because  I really like my c12 drills, Festool kept me in the loop.

You should be okay with your purchase.

I ordered a Trion last week Thursday, just before noon CDT; no shipping notice from Festool or UPS yet.  It's still only two business days, so I'm not terribly concerned myself.  Last order before that was on a Friday and didn't ship until the following Wednesday.  Based on that timeframe, I would anticipate a shipping notice tomorrow, personally.

Next week Monday is a holiday, so I have no idea when anything will actually arrive.

My recon-sourced carvex showed up today. Wondering if these are supposed to come with the same bits as a new unit would. My kit came with two splinter guards but without a single blade.

I realize I may be being nitpicky, but I really would like to try festool blades vs using whatever I have on hand (perhaps indefinitely)

It should come with two blades, yes. Reach out via the "Contact Us" form on the Recon website and they should sort it out quickly. I just got a couple of tools back to back missing parts and received replacements for everything today, about a week after I contacted them.

If you want to play with your new toy in the meantime, Bosch makes excellent jigsaw blades that are on par with the Festool ones, in my opinion. You can pick up a nice "sampler" kit for about $20 at Lowes (if you're in the US), which includes 18 blades of a wide range of types.

I appreciate the advice. I’ll reach out to them tomorrow.

Oddly enough, I have a [smaller] Bosch blade kit already. They are good blades. That said, my kit came with two blades with reversed teeth. Apparently the orientation of the teeth is intentional. That was quite the learning experience.

I'm sure they will fix the issue but if you did the recent recon-sourced Carvex PSB 420 jigsaw order make sure you check what gets delivered.  Mine just arrived and everything from the packing slip to the systainer label listed it as a PSB 420 but the actual tool in the box was a Carvex PS-420.

I've reached out to their contact form to get the issue addressed.  This is mostly a warning of don't just toss the systainer on a shelf without checking whats inside first!

After a long holiday/race weekend, it appears that they're starting to prep for today's offering/offerings.

So far a T-18 Easy (Jacob's Chuck only) is queued up, as well as a Carvex PSBC 420.  They're being held behind the "Wow, that went fast!!!" gate, and if history is any indication, they may not be in that order when they're actually released to be sold.

edit: Also a PSC 420, PS 420, TXS-Plus, CT 48, ETS 150/3 (not the ETS/EC), Cordless Vecturo Set, Trion PSB 320, PDC 18/4 Basic

Happy June!

The Hunger Games have begun...
