Festool Recon Topic (compiled)

Did I miss something, or has the recon site completely change today? I went to the bookmarked One and Done I had to see the listings and I'm now greeted with a whole new interface. Good news is, it looks like you can select what you want instead of waiting for products to roll through the queue.

I have a message at the top of my screen that says "Be sure to select 'View All' to see our limited time expanded selection!".  The link under that test is to the Black Friday sale, which goes nowhere, but yes, they changed the interface briefly, likely to clear out the backlog of stuff that simply hasn't moved much the last few weeks/months.  Also, it's a 3 (or 4) day holiday weekend, so this gives them a chance to just let it all sit there for anyone to get any version of a Planex that they want or need.

Looks like they sold through for the day.  That hasn't stopped them from posting new items mid-day in the past, of course, but who knows any more.

Cordless Drill QUADRIVE PDC 18/4 Li 5,2 I-Set-SCA just posted.

I just scooped this up! I've been looking for an 18V drill to compliment my CXS.

Awesome score!

Cordless orbital sander RTSC 400 Li 3,1 I-Set is up now.

WOW  [eek]

I refreshed, saw the VAC SYS was available, added it to my cart, and by the time I hit the "Checkout" button, it was out of stock.  I didn't hesitate or hem and haw like I sometimes do on my Recon purchases.

Kudos to whoever was able to get it before me!

Somewhat of a Festool noob here.  I picked up the ETSC 125 Li 3.1-Set this morning.  I noticed the price was $420, 75% off of $560.  I believe it may have included only 1 battery, rather than 2.  Theres nothing on the Festool site for $560.  Just wondering if I messed up by ordering this, as it stayed up a lot longer than it has in the past. Thanks!

The Set version of the cordless sanders should come with the Sys-Combi systainer (with a drawer on the bottom) as well as the mains adapter that allows you to run the sander corded.  It usually comes with two batteries, but the Recon versions are often listed with only one (for the ETSC, at least).

Even a single battery will outlast your hand/comfort level.  If the battery dies in the middle of an all-day sanding session, that's an indication that it's time to take a lunch break and recharge your body's batteries as well.  And you can plug it in while the battery is charging if push comes to shove.  If you're not sure what the battery level is before starting a project/work day, you can check with the indicator on the battery itself and charge it the night before a project if absolutely necessary.

It might also show up with two batteries, which has been known to happen.

Bottom line, I think you'll be fine if you're a hobbyist.  You can always call FestoolUSA to ask them if you want to be absolutely sure, and they might be willing to cancel before shipping if you're not comfortable with their answer.
