Festool Recon Topic (compiled)

Anyone know why all the links are broken? They all send to a TSC. Have been mislinked for weeks now. How are you buying the item if you can't go to the item page to add it to cart?

It's only coincidence then that every time I look, a TSC is next up in queue? Currently looks like "Wow, that went fast!" is next up after the TSC...ya'll want to buy some "wow" now!

Yes, there have been many, many different TSC listings recently.  Some with batteries, some without, some with the SCA-8 charger, some with TCL-6, some with a TLoc, some with a Sys3. Each one has its own SKU and thus its own listing.

The "Wow" listing is the end of the queue.  They may release the other items after that later today or just have them queued up for tomorrow.

TSC is sold through, end of queue reached.

Not sure if the remainder of the queue will open up later today or early tomorrow morning or when.  It's got some doozies in it, for sure! :)

Hi Folks - I'm looking for some feedback to see if people who've purchased on Festoolrecon share my recent experience. I ordered the OF 1400 and when it arrived the router looked to be barely inspected. There were wood chips and dust all in the sustainer and router itself. The power cord was just thrown in there without any velcro straps. No manual to be found inside and the cardboard infosheet was torn in half and pretty messed up in general.

I've ordered several tools from Festoolrecon previously and they've all been neatly packaged. Pretty much every tool arrived without sawdust and save a few scratches they looked top notch. Now I wonder if I've just been lucky in the past or if what I experienced with the OF 1400 is the norm. Any feedback would be appreciated as it helps inform my next purchasing decision with Festoolrecon. TIA!

If you read through this thread (and some others probably), you'd see that your overall experience is pretty normal.  Most tools look almost brand new but occasionally you'll get one that looks like it's been used pretty heavily, sent back during the 30 day trial period, and resold without a once-over.

Which honestly mirrors my experience with buying used tools from eBay as well.  Mostly just fine but with an occasional stinker that works fine but looks like heck.

I think your overall experience is the norm.

I certainly wouldn't expect velcroed power cords and like-new tools every time, but most stuff is in good shape. Every now and then the tool looks essentially brand new, and occasionally something ships out that feels like it was missed by whatever QA process is in place.

If the tool doesn't work, or if something is missing, Festool will take care of it for you, but over time, I would expect the occasional tool in the condition of your 1400 (certainly not most, though).

EDIT: [member=75217]squall_line[/member] is faster than me, but clearly we have similar thoughts. I promise I wrote mine myself and didn't just copy/paste yours [big grin].

The last two sanders I purchased did not come with power cords included in the box. The first one had been abused and not cleaned during the refurbished process.  Festool did send a cord out ASAP but I do not feel the quality checks / cleaning is being done now like it was in the past. Might just be unlucky with two in a row, not sure.

Thanks for confirming folks! Just noticed they didn't include a wrench or the dust extractor, but they threw in a copying ring?!?!?  [unsure] Looks like I'll need to reach out to their customer service. Also for anyone looking to pick up one of these, the listing only stated it includes an 8mm and 1/4" collet, but mine had the 1/2" collet attached.

It should have all three collets.
I had a similar experience with a dust extractor from Recon.  It had a lot of dry wall dust on it, and the wheels would not turn.  I had to take the wheels apart and clean out the drywall sludge so the wheels would turn.  There were a couple of other issues, and I just ended up calling and they gave me permission to return the item with the understanding I would buy another one when they came back up on Recon. The 2nd machine was much nicer, the first was abused then not checked our properly.  I think that one just slipped through, because I think a couple of my other recon items were brand new.

All the tools I bought from the Recon site came in mint or brand new condition (Domino, CT Mini, ETSC125, HKC55, TID/PDC Kit, T18E). Even the ancient, metric TSC55 was in great shape.

This morning has begun.  Kapex sold or was pulled from the sale almost immediately.

Cordless Angle Grinder AGC 18-115 Li 5,2 EBI-Plus is currently up

I wonder if they set a time limit on tools on the site.  The AGC appears to have been moved to the end of the queue, rather than selling through.

Also, completely unsurprised that the OF 1010 disappeared as soon as it moved to the head of the line.
