Festool Recon Topic (compiled)

Multi-Mode Sander ROTEX RO 150 FEQ-Plus just posted.

Thinking there might've been more than one Rotex available in today's offering. Previous RO 150s were gone in minutes while today's lasted 2 hours.

Curious if there's a way to tell how many of an item are available...

I was looking at the source data and was curious about a timestamp in the file for the current SKU. I decided to track it for the active SKU and noticed it was updated even though the SKU was still active on Recon. If there are multiple items available for a given SKU, it would make sense that the timestamp would reflect when a SKUs quantity is decremented (or, conceivably, any other field is altered). There's still no way to know available quantity when a SKU becomes active but this could be a way to know how many items sold during a particular listing.

The timestamp changed numerous times after I grabbed the screenshot. Anyway, just a thought.

That could be of interest for future offerings, as in maybe they build a supply of certain popular items before they're put up for sale. The "single item for sale" thing certainly slows down the process especially when it gets stalled on an unpopular item. Festool's goal is to sell the used products and not get stalled out on a particular item, that stall costs them money and clutters their shelves.

4nthony, I'm still not receiving any notifications so I'll have to ask for some help from Peter & Seth. I'll PM you now so that I can send you the Festool catalog you want...sorry for the long waiting period.

It'll be interesting to see if the timestamp changes when something like the Planex comes up. What we think of as an item being stalled for hours or days at a time could in fact be Festool offloading a bunch of them.

No worries. I sent a few PMs responding to your messages but after I didn't hear back, I figured you were having technical difficulties.
