I think I got my DUO before the price hike and didn't really need the tripod at the time. After a long annoyance with not finding a compatible tripod I found one on clearance on eBay and grabbed it. I can't remember where I ended up on it all in, but it was slightly less than new.
Same reason I couldn't justify almost any of the DWC-18 listings; with a dozen batteries already in-hand, the listings for the current model were more than the bare tool and not worth the loss of warranty. Finally got one of the older models with the 5.2 batteries for a better price.
I was shocked to see the TS55/MFT combo listed a few weeks ago, so there's still hope?
