I'm surprised the Kapex has lasted this long.

4nthony...I haven't seen you post in a while so all of the information in your latest post is quite interesting...it's new to me. The discounts you've highlighted are nice to see...it makes decision time easy.  [smile]

I did notice the dreaded KA extension set for sale is the usual Monkey F that's been going on for years  [eek] you'd think Festool marketing would have figured that out by now.  [smile] Purchasing the KA extension at Recon for $451 still means you have to purchase the UG cart which costs an additional $639. It's cheaper just to purchase the KA extension set and the UG cart together for $999...those are everyday prices.

That same purchasing goofiness also extends to the inspection light STL 450. They're trying to hawk it without a stand on Recon, yet we all know that a stand is almost mandatory for CONVENIENT use with that light. I really prefer NOT to hold up an inspection light by hand to inspect the surface finish of the drywall for hours at a time.

My garage shop has been in transition for almost a year now so I haven't been building much lately and as such I haven't been on FOG much. I'm almost done with the garage so I'll hopefully be back out there building stuff and also spending more time on here to pester everyone with questions [cool]

The screenshot is from the Recon-Slack bot I built back in 2021 to get notifications on my phone when new tools went live on Recon. I'm kinda surprised Festool hasn't blocked it yet, so maybe it's generating sales for them. Either that, or hardly anyone is using Slack and it's not evening on their radar.  [laughing]

I was an early subscriber to the slackbot and used it like a fiend in 2021.  Sniped a few precious items back in the day, and felt like a junkie at times.  I had to mute it a while back when I had almost anything that I could need/want but I would still check it now and again and if I saw something in the More channel that I wanted, I'd unmute the main channel and stay near my phone or laptop to grab it.

Heck, I saw, unmuted, and stalked the last addition to my garage, the AGC-Set, a month or two ago (the -Basic was coming up much more often, and I prefer to have the batteries if I ever sell in the future).

I love hearing when someone scores a tool from the notification and finds the bot useful! In a former life, I was a corporate software developer and loved hearing from users whose job was made easier because of something I built.

It's been at least a year since I've purchased something from Recon, but still keep track of what gets listed, just in case I see something I need to have.
