Does any one know the turn around for tool repairs under warranty in the U.K.?
My HKC 55 has been with them a week now  [mad] it was only the blade guard that was sticking..

John..

There is no way that Festool UK can carry every possible spare part. If a spare part has to come from Germany that might cause a delay .

Oh, and they are very thorough - my Domino DF 500 had a slight problem with the green plastic on/off switch and they fixed it in no time at all and it came back like a brand new machine. I actually thought that a mistake had been made and the wrong machine was returned but the serial number was the same.

....basically as quick as possible. It is dependent on stock availability though. Any concerns call the service line

Hilti seem to... if it was one of my Hilti tools that needed repairing I would of had it back last Friday.

John...

The main complaint about Festool UK service department always seems to be their lack of communication, in most cases a simple phone call or email from them with a progress report would have avoided the bad feedback.

I got a text message a week ago to say they had received it, then nothing else. Pretty useless really.

Maybe, but I'm sure there are some parts that Hilti doesn't stock just like Festool UK.  Don't get me wrong, I'm on your side.  When we pay top of the market prices the expectations are high.  In this case Festool didn't hold up their end of the high expectations they set.

Depends how fast they can get the part from germany. It took them about a week to repair and return my RO150. A week meaning if it went in on a Monday I would get it back on Monday or Tuesday. Still a pretty good turn around time

Parts maybe, but could be they are fixing other tools too?

Any way I guess you / we will know more after you call in.

Hi
It is not practical to hold every single component and some are ordered from Germany and arrive the next day......if the component is not available from there then we have to wait.....UK service overall perform very well but sometimes the chain breaks and we do our best to assist as far as possible.
....I am sure our colleagues in the industry face challenges also

With Hilti if they do not have your tool repaired & back to you within 3 working days you do not pay for the repair though, i accept that if its a warranty repair there is no cost involved, but when you do not have a tool available for a few days or running into weeks it can cost you money in other ways indirectly.

I appreciate that there is always situations when things do not go completely smoothly or complications occur, but on those occasions Festool (or whorever the company is) should have things in place to mitigate or compensate is some way & these costs should be met entirely by Festool as the damage to customer relations is far more costly than the real world £££ costs in these situations.

10 days to repair it, not exactly great service. Waiting for it to arrive back with me now. I use my tools for work, so it’s not great when it takes that long.
