Hello

Can someone explain the difference between the two versions of the 150mm Rotex sander?

Item number 575069 is the currently available version.
Item number 571805 seems to be an older version.

Does the older type have the older style pad, not the Multi-jetstream one?

Could you please check yours?

Thank you

Get the MJ1 pad. Better yet, find a pad with the 8+8+1 pattern, that one's ideal. Festool's new quest for more, more, more holes is getting ridiculous. So many holes, it's getting clown car ridiculous.

Greatest trick of all times, put in more holes, and now you can sell less paper for the same price.

Dust collection is none the better. But the paper has less effect and tears quicker. Boy am I glad I am not dependend on Festool paper but have a myriad of other brands to chose from.

I am located in the EU (Hungary). Festool.com and the local Festool.hu sites have the 575069 models as the current one.
It is a quite close number to the Festoolusa.com one with 575074. Perhaps the only thing is the different cable plug.

Anyway, I will opt for the more recent one with the MJ2 pads.

Thanks for the info.

I don't know where you're from. I'm from the Netherlands and there is lots of choice here. If you're from the USA, there is very little choice, if none but Festool.

There are so many brands I can think of here, Indasa, SIA, Klingspor, 3M, Hamach, Flexovit, Bosch, Metabo to name a few.

I prefer Indasa, best value for the money and about a half to a third of Festool price. I have a good supplier close to me, www.nonpaintstore.nl. If you're interested, they ship all over the world. Other brands I like most are SIA, 3M and Flexovit, but they are closer to Festool prices.

Awh bummer- yep I’m in California so stuck with mostly the US market but will checkout the shop you linked & eBay to see if I can score some of the others you mentioned to try out.

I have been amazed at the festool garnet, it lasts a brilliantly long time so I’m not too bitter about the price but always like to have options ;)
