Festool router 1400 guide bushing issue

I have a OF 1400 and I am having an issue with the guide busing. When I attached the bushing to the base plate, the router collet hits the bushing ring. It all seems to fit perfect but I can't get the depth of cut because of the interference. I am quite new to woodworking, is there something I am doing wrong?

I'll try to help you with this. Can you attach a picture of what's happening? That will help to make sure that we are on the same page.

What diameter bushing? If the inside diameter of the bushing is less than the outside diameter of the collect the collet will hit the bushing. You need a longer bit if you need a great depth of cut.

From what you described, you might be using a bit that is too short for what you are doing, or you do not have it set in the collet correctly.
