Hello,
I recently saw the Festool RS-BD D 36-Plus which contains a stainless steel hose, curved.
I have the old plastic one that almost broke, can I buy the new steel hose?
I can't see the product code on the Festool website.
Do you know if it is possible to buy it as a replacement?

Thanks

I believe that curved stainless handle is no longer available as a single/service part. Actually, I prefer using the stainless tubes 452902 along with the plastic curved handle 203129 as it has a slide control for vacuum regulation. That's especially useful when using a turbo suction powered floor tool on a rug.

The curved steel piece isn't new... it is from the past, no longer available. The straight steel pieces themselves are now different too if I remember.

You can check EKAT if parts are sold, but my money is on 'no' as the curved plastic piece is seen by most as a superior replacement since it has the valve.

I have never been happy with the plastic handle because it does not mate well with the steel tubes, it seems that it disassembles in my hand and it always creates air leaks.
For this reason, as soon as I saw the "new" version with the curved steel tube, I thought of buying the new handle.
I don't care about the valve, if I need to clean I want the maximum suction possible, so for me that's a non-issue.
I saw the spare part 452900, but it looks different from the tube in the kit RS-BD D 36-Plus

I wish they would let us know before they un-alive ((:) products - as mentioned in another thread it would be nice to get notice to get more or stock up on things before they go away.
I was considering purchasing another 36mm hose about a month ago ( and it is cheaper to get it in the cleaning set) and i like the metal set i got last time, much than the plastic ones - much less flex across the entire setup.
I thought it was just me not being able to search properly, but i guess like the vac sys its gone...

As well as RAS115 and LS130.
The hopeful side of me would like to believe that they do it to stop hoarding, which leads to price gouging in the secondary market.
The pessimistic side of me says maybe they fear loss of sales, because people think they won't support the tool. If they think that the warranty repair or parts/consumables supply is gone too, they won't buy. Then warehouses sit on the discontinued stuff just sits.
I don't know, but I can see either side.

I got the set with the metal tubes several years ago. They offered a plastic tube version back then too. Seems to me there was more than one? Maybe different brushes? I think they change it once in a while, not as often as "installers sets", but there seems to be some variance

Ya, the stainless 452900 was obsoleted back in 2019 when it was replaced with the plastic 203129.

Another nice thing about the plastic version is that it has the bayonet lugs molded in so it's a very secure fit on the new style woven 36 mm hose.
