Lets hope they dont only post details on F-Book and Twitter. Lots of people dont use that "social media"
The FOG is social media.  So if you're posting here, you're using it.

True. I guess my point was that a lot of companies seem to run these contests ONLY on F-Book or Twitter, which bypasses those users not on that specific "social media". Having a contest posted here on the FOG, or the manufacturers website, or a dealers website is simply appreciated (by me!) and probably seen by a wider audience.

I am on F-Book, I think. I know I have an account but have not logged in for years!

Just another reminder for anyone interested, we are continuing to offer a monthly sweepstakes with Festool prizes. Currently, we will have three winners of SysLites at the end of this month. With three winners, this should increase your odds. Also, you can get additional entries by sharing with friends, etc.

You can also subscribe to our emails for notifications for new products and new giveaways moving forward.

Note: open to US residents only.

Good luck to all.

Shane you need to then open your sweepstakes and sales to us Canadians, because it would drive more sales to your website which increases your over all profit.

If I hit that link, it comes back:

Not Found
HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.

Yep - I think thats what started this thread in the first place!

I do not mean to speak for Shane or Tool Nut, but as far as I understand, they are contractually obligated to sell Festool only in the USA. What might prevent them from selling other brands Internationally, I dont know...

If you read my other posts the reason it comes back not found is because Festool is pausing the sweepstakes this month because they are going to be doing some different  promotions so if you go to their site and subscribe to their news letter then you will be notified about all new sweepstakes, new promotion and new contests. Here is the link to subscribe to their news letter http://festoolusa.com/contact/subscribe/

Hey, guys. Festool has decided to switch things up for a bit. We've been running the same sweepstakes for a while, and it's simply time for something new. Between several new product launches and Festool's 90th birthday, there are some cool things happening in the next few months. We'll definitely make sure that the FOG knows about any new promotions or contests.

So I'm not the only one surprised by the 404's... :)

A piece of advice from someone who spends a whole lot of time toiling in the bit mines, judging from the comments in this threat perhaps it would have saved a bit of hassle and trouble if that 404 was actually a page saying something like, "We're pausing the sweepstakes for a bit. Here are a bunch of videos of cute cats playing with power tools!" or some such.

Special note to US'ian Festool folks, the 'runtime error' on the http://blog.festoolusa.com/post/2011/05/31/Enter-Every-Month-to-Win-Festool-Prizes!.aspx page I'm hitting is also a bit of a surprise.

Now back to the bit mines. If only Festool made something that was Festool-good at cutting up web server logs, I'd probably buy that one too ... :D

rawr.
