I was watching one of the Festool TV (Germany) videos with Frank showing how to use the MFS to inset a circular tile into a board.  He mentioned being careful about how you route out the remainder so that you had support.  I remembered embarrassing how many times I have messed this up myself.  Then I went looking at the router sled plate.

But if you have a Festool 1400 router and the guiderail attachment you have a way to bridge those larger recesses and a way to incorporate this into a sled for flattening surfaces of a limited width.

Wow, bro that is a great idea. That set up can even be used to create a jig for plunge routing mortises.
