Festool TDK NiCd packs, has anyone rebuilt them yet?

Hi folks,

All of my 12 and 15v TDK batteries are showing signs of age and have reduced charge life.  Has anyone successfully had the packs rebuilt?  And if so, who did you use.

Bill, good to hear from you.  This came up in recent discussions on the forum.  Before you go to the expense, you may want to check the price versus buying a new battery.  Battery prices were reduced about a year or so ago and are very well priced.

Yes, I saw the prices but rebuilt prices to upgrade to NiMH are pretty cheap, $45 and $57 for the 12 and 15.6v NiMH as opposed to $60 and $115 for Festool.

I'll likely go Festool for the 12v packs because of the competitive pricing.

I'm still interested in anyone who used a place like MTOBattery.com (they get quite good reviews)

Bill, I have used that vendor for a rebuilt kit for my Dewalt 14.4 drill/driver and was completely satisfied. Since my TDK is the 12v, like you, it seemed better to just order new batteries from Uncle Bob when I needed to change them out. I did and left NiCad behind. Very satisfied.
