I'm not sure how much overlap there is between Festool and Dremel owners, but I just got a dust extractor from Festool and I had a “Trio” tool from Dremel for a while. The Trio has a dust extractor port, but its size and shape are very different from the one on my Carvex. To use the Festool dust extractor with the Trio, I modeled and 3D-printed an adapter. I tried it out today and it works great.

If you have access to a 3D printer (or want to print it through a service such as shapeways) you can get the model file at thingiverse.com, its ID there is 217674 so just search for that. I'd post the full URL, but this brain-damaged forum software doesn't let me post links.

What's the reason why you made it so long??  Just curious.

From the pictures it looks like you could make it shorter.

No particular reason, I based that part loosely on the adapter that came with the Carvex. I might shorten it and try how that works. I do like that it keeps the hose out of the way a bit.
