I'd really like to see both Steve Bace and Allen Kensley in the same room teaching a class together... that would be funny  ;D

What did you get in your goodie bag??

Did ya get a chance to go to the heart attack grill and get one of those huge burgers?

I'm feeling some envy Phil! It looks like you had a great experience.

I'm hoping to attend the Farm Table or Festool System Essentials class next year.

I've signed up for the email notification but I wish they would post the schedule for next year.

Didn't get to this year... because........ As luck would have it, this particular training is scheduled the same week as The SEMA Show!  A little bit more on my own personal backstory would tell that I've canoodled around in the automotive aftermarket for about 12 years or so, and most years I have contacts who head to SEMA either as exhibitor or buyer, and often request my attendance for whatever reason I prove useful for :P

Short answer -- I was fed well and happy at various fancy restaurants along the Strip  ;D

Heya Mike!  I'm quite certain Client Classes are even better than our Dealer Training Classes.  Festool knows that you guys are Pros, whereas us Dealers come from a variety of backgrounds, often non-trade related, so training for us is very "101".

At training Mr. Steve Bace did say that he's currently working on the Winter Quarter's schedule, so that should be posted up shortly.  Do please post up pics when you do go yea?

By the way, I do see that you're located in the SF Bay Area -- you DO know that at K-119 we have our own demo area + army of demo tools for you to play with yea?  Granted by no means are we at Trainer level, but as far as basic Q&A and getting your hands on some Festool, we're more than happy to set you up :)

Last time I swung by the training center was July.

No class just stopped by to talk to Steve.

He really is a nice guy.

To my surprize Steve was there with the Sledge and a German trainer  George, Ive seen George on some of the festool videos.

Anyway, they were working on a project kind of a trainer training the trainer sort of thing.

From what I gathered they were working on some new projects for te end user classes.

The one I saw them working on was petty darned cool.

Look for them guys, they'll be in depth and very interesting and fun to build.

Even the guys who have already taken the classes would like these.

Phil,

Actually Steve and Allen have taught many classes together. This year Steve drove down to help out at the Festool Road School held at Anderson Plywood in Culver City.

The first of the End User Classes which opened the new Henderson Training Center in late 2010 had both Steve Bace and Brian "The Sedge" Sedgeley instructing us.

Your photos of the Henderson facility are marvelous. Thanks for sharing.

Dr. Adams!  Haven't heard from you in awhile!  Sure hope all is well!  Really really hoping for Festool Road School again next year.  I really think I need to shorten my interval for Festool Factory Training... just so much good stuff.

Curiosity beckons the question -- how about some photos of your shop?  ::)

I totally agree.  I attended the cabinet class in October and it was great.  Steve told us at the beginning of class that we'd all have an 'Ah-ha' moment at some point during the class and we were supposed to be prepared to tell ours at the end of class.  Now, it's not that I'm inexperienced, it's just that the class, the tools, the system, everything was just great so my 1st Ah-ha moment was about an hour in and just kept having them.

Can't say enough great things about the class and Steve as an instructor. It was so great I even volunteered to do a demo bookcase build using the Festool system at Acme Tools in Cedar Rapids Iowa this weekend as part of their fall sale.  I'll be putting on (2) demo bookcase builds the 2nd day of the sale to be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

Wish me luck.

Heya Karl, wanna come do build demos at our shop too? ;)

What you're doing is awesome (and for a good cause too!).  I'm a SPCA volunteer and have been thinking about doing dog-house, bird-house, "animal"-house building workshops at our store.  Frankly it's also good practice for our Staff to get more hands-on time with the tools.

Keep up the good work mate!

Sounds like a plan!  You buy, I'll fly!  [tongue]

Seriously, though, I'm considering something similar to what you're talking about.  Short demos for promotional events at event for dealers.  I've already gotten a couple of requests now, so we'll see how that goes.

Thanks for the encouragement.

We're hosting a training class at our shop in Palm Desert, CA next March/April which will feature both Steve Bace and Allen Kensley, as well as reps from a few other lines. This will be the third class we host, the past two with great feedback, I'm happy to say! Not a whole lot of details as of now, but we will be gearing into putting it together in the next couple of weeks. You can expect a formal announcement with an exact date and class details to be posted on here soon.  ;)

Awesome pictures.  It is a great training facility and Steve is among the best as is Brian and of course Allen.  I love the cork floor.

Been waiting for that announcement. Both of the previous classes have been great.
