Festool TS-55R Enhancement

I wish Festool would enhance the TS-55R saw by making the dust spout only turn 180 degrees from 9 round to 3 o'clock and not the full 360 degrees which is mental.

This tiny detail would definitely make ''the best plunge-cut saw we have ever built" a tad better. It is a PITB when you go to put the saw down on the rail and the attached hose (pointing downwards) is in the way.

This topic has bound to have been posted about before as I'm sure I'm not the only one to find this a really big nuisance. Which is all the more reason for Ze Germans to do something about it and design a retro fittable spout for the 55R that only rotates from 9 to 3.

You know the dust port (10015824) from the TSC 55 can be retrofitted on the TS55/R versions.
It has an index when turning the port to the desired direction.
Search the FOG for it.

Yet another project I have booked marked for when I return to the states and set my shop up.

This new dust spout 10015824 you recommended for the TS 55R works very well and is a big improvement on the original part.

Nice one and thank you Neeleman. You've made a brilliant saw a tad better...

Thanks for the info. Shame it's £15 otherwise I'd definitely pick one up. Bit expensive for what it is though, half that and fair enough.

Update: I've found it for £10 so thats better :-)

I made the change to the indexed dust port and likes how it holds it's position, the down side. You have to remove it to set the saw in the systainer where it sits flat in it's place, since it it longer that the original dust port.

You don't have to take the (new) dust port off to get the saw to fit in its Systainer.
Turn it so it faces down and it just fits in.
Mine does...

Changed my dust port to the tsc55 port tonight. Took seconds to do and so far looks a great improvement. It wouldn't fit in the systainer so I had to unscrew it. Just read above that it fits if pointed down so I'll give that a go.
