I ordered one of these from Etsy.  It took two weeks to get here and had to order it twice.  Anyway, I can't figure out how to use the part I received.  I assumed I would take the connector off of my saw and put on this one piece but something does not look right.  Can someone who has this adapter tell me what I am doing wrong.

I ordered this part,

And this is what I got (left), along with the adapter I took off of the saw (right).  The green collar does not move at all.  I would assume it would move up and allow me to attach to the saw but it won't budge.

Am I missing something?  Thanks.

I have done that.  I am just asking here if someone has ordered this and can point out what I might be doing wrong.

Can you turn the green attachment collar at all? Maybe if you can twist it back & forth it will eventually move towards the end where it's supposed to be.

Thanks Cheese.  I think it should move but its very tight and until I have here back from vendor, I am afraid to force it.  It took two weeks to get this thing and seller hasn't been very communicative.  Still waiting on messages sent to him a couple days ago.

[member=72312]Rick Herrick[/member] did that come from Tool Curve?
It looks just like the one I got for my TS60. If so, when correct, it works just fine. Yours looks like the green ring has slipped?
You have the right idea. It twists onto the original Festool stub. Functionally, it works the same as the original, without the swiveling. It stays put in a fixed position.

The one I got from them the first time, for the TS55 was totally different. It actually replaced the original inner stub, which requires some extra disassembly. However, it fit the 27mm tool hose only. The was no external fitting for the 36mm hose to fit over the outside.
The pic is not the greatest, because this wasn't the intent of it, but you can see the difference. The Ts55 is closest and has the green fitting (internal only).
I don't seem to have a pic of the one with the green ring, where it is visible. This pic was from the day I got the 60 and I didn't get the new adapter until the following day.

Thank you for that info, that helps make more sense.  My only thought now, until I hear back from the seller, is that the green collar is stuck in some way so it can't move up to attach to the saw.  Appreciate the help and the picture.

I ordered the same part from Tool Curve and was baffled how to attach it...Turns out a 2nd fitting was missing...That was sent, and I am still baffled. I think there must have been more than one type of port on TS55...I have an early REQ. Communication is poor for sure from Toolcurve. Also...the adapter for my RAS 115 cracked after a fall...so ordered another...it worked great foe a month then started falling off most of the time. Beware

Rick I'm in exactly the same boat, the one I ordered is not what was received. I reached out via Etsy but haven't heard back yet, I need to escalate the issue.

It appears they offer different versions, Cleantec and not Cleantec, but used the same photos on both listings. What I was expecting is the Cleantec version shown in the image of the listing, and that should just twist onto the stock bayonet fitting on the saw.

I specifically wanted the Cleantec version so I'm trying to arrange a swap.

I did hear back from the vendor.  His writing of the issue didn't make sense to me so I asked him to make a video, which he did.  Turns out the flush piece on the end, nearer the collar, simply unscrews.  Once you do that, it will easily attach to the TS55.  It does make the saw a couple mm longer so it does not easily fit into the systainer.  It bows out the side just a tad.  That issue is no biggee but I wish he had tested better.  I also asked him to fix his ad so people know what they get and what it should look like.  Having no doc or no video just made this issue take too long to fix.  Here is the link he sent, assuming its still up.

Mine did not come with that extra piece attached. It was just the green ring and hose fitting, like the part in the background. It just twists onto the adapter on the saw itself, just like the factory one, except it doesn't turn.
I actually like the older version better, (the one that is completely green). It doesn't work with the 36mm hose, but I don't use that hose with the TS anyway.
I only use it with the router table or OF1400.

I noticed yours was all green.  That also does not match the ad on Etsy.  This guy is really making it hard on his business by not having accurate ads/pictures, and not doing any instructions.  I forgot to mention, as you just did, that this version now allows both the 27 and 36 hoses, which is a plus.

Rick, how did you make contact? I've messaged twice via Etsy but no response.

Thanks.

Richard, Etsy is the only way that I know of.  On two occasions I had to wait several days before he got back to me.  Initially he said he had some personal matters that took his time but he was ready to get back at it.  I checked his reviews and there were a number of comments about him not being on the ball regarding customer responses.  I had to open a case with Etsy to finally get things moving.  Hated to do that but didn't seem like there were any other options.

Thanks I was at the point of escalating to Etsy but, like you, was reluctant to run to teacher.

The all green one did match the picture, at the time I bought it. That was a few years ago though.
I had expected to get the same thing the second time, but did not. I actually like the all green one better, but wasn't opposed to the new version enough to return it.
I may end up swapping them though, so the green one is on the TS60 rather than the TS55. I use the 60 more often.

The thing I thought was funny was the hose fitting "adaptor" for the older OF1010 with the oval port. It is mostly black, but has a colored band at the hose end.....but it's blue? Why? That thing only fits those oval ports of a couple of Festool tools and they obviously have the green filament.
Seems like it would be smart to color-code things for their own internal sorting issues, much less the expectations of the customer.
