Props to the folks at Festool service. I was having problems with my Rotex FEQ150 .

From the phone call to to service and pick up at my house was roughly 24 hrs. From festool service back to my house was roughly 5 days.

Pretty darned good if ya ask me.

Good to hear as Festool are getting  bit of a pasting (rightly so?) on here at the moment. Your comments provide some useful balance.

Meh, people overreact a lot on this forum lately. If 5 million cars make it home safely from work, and one crashes, which one do you think gets on the news?

on the other hand Vauxhalls were bursting into flames in the uk they of course denied there was a problem

until it happened to too many for them to lie any more, as the fires were starting at the heater motor control

sounds similar to anything?

I agree the story of the Kapex motors is heard a bit too much. Sounds to me there might be a reason for concern there, particularly in 110v land. Nevertheless, we get to hear the fail stories mostly, because people like to vent.

But many people suddenly generalise that to all tools and that is quite the overreaction, in my opinion, because it is not warranted. Most Festools perform just fine.

I do think it would be in Festool's best interest to put a lot of effort in designing a new, improved Kapex very quickly.

If the New Metabo scms is as good as it looks then the kapex is totally outclassed.

Lets hope its not too quickly or it will be another carvex..

A long term member posted about sending a tool in for service and getting it back quickly and saying thank you.  Why is there the need to pollute this thread with the other conversations going on here.  Post your comments in the correct threads please.

And the relevance of being a long term member?

Hi
Relevant or not the point is to keep the threads on track without it developing sideways into a 'lets have a go at the Carvex'....again.

.....the thread is about Festool U.K service not on cars or Metabo or any designs

Only because that Member has been seasoned to the pros and cons and had read the good and the bad.

That's all.

Carry on.

Glad to hear you had a great experience. I too had one this week with Festool USA. Sent in my ti15 as well as my ets125. My ti15 was fully covered under Warranty, even though it was past 3 years. The ti15 came back looking way better then when I sent it in and seems to work perfectly. The turn around time was quick too.

There is ample opportunity to have a pop at Festool in other threads so it is a shame this one was hijacked. A post about quality service is often about individuals going the extra distance so I can fully understand why Festool employees might get disgruntled.
