Well I made the mistake of letting the wife use my ct33e while the orick was out for repair and she loved it so much she wants to use it some times for certain things the orick can't do well.  Anyway I bought the assesory kit and picked it up yesterday.

Question and may be dumb but I've looked and don't see a reason for the openings in one of the parts with the kit.  It's at the top of the section that would attach to the hose and is a 22.5 (looks like anyway) sweep where you would hold it like a normal vac attachment.  It has a green slide (means its for something i've learned that) you can slide it to expose three holes that serves to vent the pipe.  My question is why would you use this?

Hi you use it to reduce the vacuum, you may have a need to reduce the vacuum momentarily or for a particular job

Exactly, Festoolfootstool!

Imagine you had screws, nails, or chunks in with some sawdust. If you pick them up at full suction, they can literally go through the back of the bag. That slider allows you to reduce suction temporarily without going back to the CT.

I often try to pick up screws and nails with the vac, but they're just too small and dense for the suction to get a hold.  [tongue]

I think you can also release some of  the suction if you are using a restrictive tool attachment. Like a crevice tool, you put it on, then vacuum started too sound like a wind tunnel drawing air into a very small opening and the motor labor a little. You can open up one or more of the holes to relieve the suction.
