Isn't this just blatantly transparent? They want orders so that they can give customers a $50 discount but still sell a $$$ tool and make a shed load of profit. Are people really that naive that they think this is some sort of heartfelt gesture!?!?
You are mistaken. Festool sent a reminder about a rebate check, which was not cashed. It was after the order has been made. It wasn't about an unused voucher or discount coupon.

Ah yes, I am indeed mistaken. Must have been the b@stardising of the English language with the word "check" instead of "cheque" that threw me [big grin] [big grin].

Though the underlying premise remains, Festool want to promote and create goodwill around the whole voucher/rebate scheme in order that when they run it in the future people will place orders and make them richer.

Right, it was part of a marketing promotion. Beeecause , businesses are in business to make money ...............  how strange ?  [huh]  Doesn't mean people didn't save $50 on what they bought.

Completely agree. My issue was with people thinking Festool should be given some sort of corporate sainthood for it.

I will give FT credit for making the contact.  Yes, they obviously want to sell more tools; but they did not need to go to the effort to do so.  Personally, I've been on the receiving end of the "void after 90...120...180 days" fine print and it is disappointing.

Yeah . . . It's really disturbing that, when a company does something which is a positive for their consumers that that a number of the posts in this thread took the negative side. I don't get it. People just can't seem to give credit to a company that, while mistakes have been made, continues to provide high quality customer service. I have NEVER had a problem with Festool service or the company itself. They have gone out of their way to give me the benefit of the doubt as a customer.
