Festool USA Website

Very simply, your missing the drills and Festool is missing Shane. [wink]
I'm sure their new IT person - when they hire him, will be updating the Festool USA website in a timely manner.

really!?!  is festool some kind of mom and pop shop?  they did not have ample notice of shane leaving and/or have someone assisting that could step into the position at a time of many new changes?  nowadays, web presence is paramount--especially of a top-of-the-line manufacturer in a large market.  pretty amateurish if you ask me.  i was also disappointed to not be able to look up specs and definitive info on the new offerings, especially given the fact that wrong info was passed on by festool to the dealers and posted on their websites.  maybe they'll figure it out in the next 90.  i say let us all quit coddling them and hold them to a higher standard!

I don't know the who, why's, or what about Shane leaving, but I do know, they were huge shoes to fill and they are working on that.

I apologize for the website lacking some of the new products.  We currently have people in house working on this as I type. As always, if there are any questions about the products that you can't get answered from visiting our website you can call us direct at the number listed below, or send an email through the website.

I'm just curious, was that recent barrage of ???? a spam attack? I've never seen anything like that before.

Every once in a while one get through. Most of the time we nail it fast enough that many (most ) FOG members never even see it.

well, i have a very good dealer down in austin who has always provided valuable help and answers to questions.  it's just that sometimes i don't know what questions i might have.  after the major tool introduction, i wanted to go to the manufacturer's site and look at all the new stuff at my leisure, compare specs, look at pics, etc, then let the information percolate in my mind for a while while i make some decisions.  the part where you start asking some specific questions of the dealer or mfg. comes after all that, at least for me.

it's just unseemly that one can't do that at this moment in time on the website of this manufacturer.  it hasn't always been this way, but in this day and age, the online catalog has become the de facto way that any manufacturer presents current timely info on their offerings in much the same way that internet access has become one of the essential household utilities alongside water and electricity.

anyway, i'm glad to hear they're getting the ol' internets updated over there at the general store and hardware manufacturing country depot.  i got a cousin who knows a guy from the bar who i hear is pretty durn good with all them newfangled ee-lectronics and programming and such.  if you're still needing help, he might could help y'all out after he's done running the combine...

Thanks for the answer. I wasn't trying to complain, just curious.

I wish I could think of a reason to buy the new PDC drill. Guess I'll have to just wait for the TSX to show up here in the USA.

But everything still isn't on there. Trying to register my PDC set part # 564597 no where to be found on the registration page just the basic and the plus. Sort of embarrassing for Festool to not have the ability to have someone update the site the day they are released much less 2 weeks later. Still waiting to register. Love the drill though.

According to job statistics, there are currently over 100,000 unfilled software positions in the U.S. So it could be they just can't find someone qualified.

This actually makes me happy as

1) I'm a software consultant
2) my son graduated and is starting college in the fall...[emoji41]

Just curious, what do you like about the drill? I'm on the fence.

I love that the drill is so versatile. With all the different settings and the trigger control you can go as slow as you want or as crazy fast as you want. While I haven't been able to put it fully through the ringer yet. I think I'll enjoy it. Plenty of power. The batteries seem to last longer than I'll ever need them. It fits good in my hand, isn't too heavy. The light is bright, wish there was an option for the light to just go on once the trigger is pressed, but it's fine, will just take some getting used to. Now if I could only register it!  [tongue]

I would have thought that the Festool dealer in the USA would have already pre registered the tools before they posted them out. So there is no need for the user to have to do it. That's how it works down here.
