Festool Vac Sys - running time

Hi.

Are there any restrictions on the running time of the Festoon VacSys system, how long can it be run for continuously ?

Sorry about the delay in responding.

As DynaGlide mentioned when I have to use the VacSys I turn it on and do not turn it off until I’m done with the need. This could be 10 minutes or all day. The pump is quiet enough there have been times I did not turn it off when I left the shop.

This is the press release for the VacSys from Festool USA. The last line states it is a continuous duty motor. I’d be more concerned about wear on the vanes than the motor.

I also turn mine on and leave it on until done using it.  I have run it for hours at a time while sanding for a cabinet build or something like that.  I figure it’s better on the motor to let it run than to turn it off and on for each part I need to sand.

It's a great tool and super helpful in my workflow.  I say turn it on, let it run and enjoy the benefits!
