Hi guys....just wanted to let everyone know that I bought a "Festool" watch from ebay for .99 cents!!! plus $12 for shipping....and for $13 it's a nice watch. Light weight and silver.  This is the cheapest festool item I own.  I also got my hands on a multi festool tool  thing....anyone else out there with a "festool" watch?

Eric

Hi,

Thats a great deal on the watch !   I saw another different Festool watch on Ebay once that was  a Festool 75th ( I think ) anniversary watch.

Did that anniversary RO150 have special Systainer latches too?

Seth

Yes it did have the special latches and it was the 25th anniversary of Rotex.  I did appreciate the watch in the package without any price increase, but to be very honest, the quality of the watch is nowhere's near Festool standards.  It's just a nice looking inexpensive watch.  Enjoy!

Eric,

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if it's one of the (several) that have appeared on international eBay sites recently, then I'm pretty sure it's fake.

There are no active auctions at the moment, but if you put "festool watch" in the search box, and click on "completed listings", then you will find 20 matches, all sold out of Hong Kong. Here's a screen grab of some of them:

I don't know how many designs of watch Festool have released over the years. I'm only aware of the 75th aniversary ones, and these are definitely not those...

Sorry (again). [unsure]

Hmmm...  Let's see, you bought an alleged Festool watch for $0.99 and paid $12.00 for shipping?  Sounds pretty bogus to me when the shipping is more spendy than the item being sold/bought.  You have to wonder what's being sold here, the item or the shipping.  Something here just doesn't ring right to me.

I had bought an electronics part from Ebay for ham radio. It was a .99 cent part with
$5 shipping. I knew something was up, but I really wanted to see how this person done it
compared. I thought what the heck, six dollars for curiosity. [tongue] It came in a standard envelope
standard usps mail. Total cost of shipping, stamp and envelope. It wasn't a bogus part, but it
wasn't anywhere from standard. Just good wording in salesmanship and however many like me
that bit made this person a few bucks.  [embarassed]

That happens all the time. They make 8.00 or 9.00 on the handling and the item looks like it is .99 cents. I have seen the real Festool watches go for this before.

I have also  seen them go for 50.00. I have two of the watches, I do not think  I will sell them though. They came with the RO 150 if I remember right.

Did the watch come in a round Festool container?

hey guys...I knew that it was NOT a authentic festool watch....I wanted a watch to wear for work, the guy selling the item couldn't have made too much money....when I received the package, it was stamped $10.49.  No, the watch did not come in anything except the bubble wrap and package it was shipped in.  It was an auction item....and I was the only person to bid on it....so at .99 cents...for a work watch that is light weight, I would say I got a good deal.....I will see how it holds up in the shop!

I don't think eBay charges a percentage on the shipping cost, so if you flip you prices say instead of 12 for the watch and 99 cent for ship, then you won't have to give eBay 30% or how ever much they charge. You only pay a percentage on the 99 cent which can make you a lot better profit. I don't worry about the shipping price anymore I add the two together and if it's still a good deal I buy it if not I don't.

This will probably clear things up or offer a nice trip down memory lane for some of you.  Notice the date on the sander's tag states 2007.
