So tonight, I have installed on my older Samsung A31 phone. Has no phone chip, so has to run off of Wifi and then downloaded the file after I installed Nordvpn and set to the UK. After also installing the XAPK installer. Installed the software and entered my email password etc . It has on the account from the newer phone samsung A56. Went to connect to the battery and it would not let me. Came up with a connection error. So this time I decided to leave the Nordvpn on, and turned off the Wifi connection. So only the software and Bluetooth are talking to each other. It connected just fine after doing the pairing thing which it would now do. So I have paired all the batteries to the old phone and can use that for the bluetooth information. It is currently showing me the charging state of the 2 batteries I am topping up from 88% and 90%.
Hope that this may help anyone else who would like to have the Bluetooth feature.
So my summery for me, is that the software can be downloaded from this alternat site instead of play store and installed just fine, and can be effectively registered with email over Wifi fine. But if an internet connection is required for the firmware updates, will need to use the phone network and an effective VPN. I ahve not tried other vpns to see which are better than others.
Once set up, it works fine just on the Bluetooth only .
Next will try the Bluetooth only with the vpn turned off and see what happens then.

I did still use the VPN, to test it out. It is Version 3.11.2 from February 2026. It installs their APK installer, and then installs the Festool Work App. A much easier way than the initial way I got the app.
