Hi I am interested in the Festool Work Center, and I was wondering if it will fit on the CT22 dust extractor? Also I would like comments on the likes and dislikes of it.

Thanks,

Jerry, welcome to the forum.

The WCR is compatible with the CT 22/33.

I'll leave the likes and dislikes to forum members to answer.

Thanks,

I like that I can pile a ton of tools on top of it.  I have loads of clamps, pencils, tape measure, lasers (measuring, level, stud finder), ruler, square, earmuffs, drink, wallet and keys, usually rest whatever tool I'm actively working with either on the shelf or right above the CT.  Wheeling all that junk around is awesome, and it helps keep it at least somewhat organized.  I have the hand cart thingy, so I pile all my systainers and lug them around with that, usually have a couple of stacks with me.

What I don't like?  It weighs too much, hah.  It "makes me" buy more stuff - like the open handled systainer to put all my junk in for transit.  I keep the power cord rolled up in there and just plug in an extension because I don't like wrapping it back up at the end of the day (which means taking the work center off).  I also don't like that it doesn't come with a second metal shelf - but that's more a personalization / customization thing than anything else.

I may be incorrect in remembering, but doesn't connecting it as-is require the hose garage? that was an option for that vac.

That said, I have mine on a CT-22 and love it there. Made a friction-fit mount for it atop a sortainer for chucks, bits, pliers, etc. Love it

That was my recollection as well.  I have the hose garage on my CT22 and it's a great accessory to have, however, you render it almost useless with the Work Center on top of it. [blink]

My stepmom lives by the adage "A place for everything, and everything in its place."  It's been a good influence on me, and the Workcenter really helps a lot.
You can hang or rest multiple tools on it at once- I've used it switching back and forth between TS75, router, power planer, and compact belt sander, all while having clamps, tape, pencils, and plans close at hand.

It's great for moving all your tools and supplies around a space, and for the shop, of course.

That said, since my work flow often involves a complete load in/out daily, and usually jobs are on the short side, I haven't used mine much. (I also tend to bring my MIDI to jobs more frequently than my
CT22)
If you're in the LA area, I'll make you a great deal on mine.

Mines on a CT22 right now

I use mine on every job which means unloading it and loading it into the van every day.  Mine goes  on a ct26 and the rig is adored by customers and subs alike.  I get the comment "that looks like some kind of medical equipment or something " fairly  often.  I would NEVER want to be without it because it totally lives up to the name "Work Center".

Really nice to have.  You can reconfigure to your task really easy.  If I'm in the shop it's usually got all my sanders and pads hanging off it.  Sometimes it's a trim station when I'm running a lot of molding.  Or a drill rack and hardware station when I'm dressing cabinets.  It can also become a rolling junk drawer, but even then everything's in one place.  I usually wear a vest instead of a belt to stay light and a little more stealthy but a lot of times I don't need anything but a few things in my pants and the work center rolling behind me.

This is a small investment that I love  http://www.fastcap.com/estore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=45290&idcategory=0
Saves bending over when you're turning the vac on and off a lot, or when your somewhere with the hose fully extended, you don't have to walk to the vac to turn it on.
