Peter thanks for the info. I've been using a DeWalt recently and I find the shadow line almost pointless because you have to lower the saw to get the guard out of the way. I'm sure for ultimate accuracy lowering the blade is ideal but for a lot of things a mm or maybe 2 doesn't affect what I'm doing and if it's a particularly big and heavy workpiece it's not easy to move with one hand.
Rather than a banding machine have you considered a roll of the industrial cling film? It comes on a reel and you can insert a handle and you just wrap it around the item.
I'm campaigning for them to produce Christmas pattern cling film as I'm sure loads of us guys could use it for their Christmas wrapping.
