Well I found this while thinking about ordering from this site. Just read the first post.

I have no idea if it is the world record holder but regardless it is testament to what quality really is. There too much of this "tools and machines braking a day after the warranty expires" nonsense so I am glad that there are companies that still do good work.

Oh and if by chance the person who posted that is on here please speak up. I want to know that sanders' story!

Anyone else have any impressive Festool longevity stories?

Well some tools last for 20 years or more so I guess there is time to see if the Rotex really holds up. How did he go through so many brushes? I run my RO 150 sander 4 hours a day every day since I got it at least 2 years ago(I think) and never went through any brushes yet. Actually, that may or may not be a good thing.

I do think the my Bosch seems a bit more indestructible than the Rotex, although the Rotex is my go to, this Bosch for 1/2 the price is just as good in my opinion and again seems a bit more durable.

It is similar to the Rotex, dual mode in that it takes a learning curve to use. Also, like the Rotex a few people  tend to hate the sander and send it back because they do not know how the Dual modes should act.

Nickao,

Do you own a 150E sander? I'm not defending him, I mean he could very well be lying. It's just I would imagine the newer models would be more effecient at this type of thing? You can't really trust South Africans ;)

Any of the dealers ever delt with old tools that still worked?

No, I have the EQ's.

I am not saying the guy is lying. I am just wondering what could cause him to go through so many that's all.

Possibly the newer sanders don't eat them up so fast?

i still have  three 150e in service at my solid surface business the earliest one is from before 2000 and these tools are used everyday for over ten years
and have had only four brush sets in them so far and still work fabulous the eqs are equally as sturdy. they are used in a dusty abrasive enviroment everyday of there lives i can't say enough about these ro150e or eq there the very best you can bank on it i do [big grin].
