Happy Holidays!

This year has seen huge growth here at the FOG.  Much of that has been international - the FOG is based here in the US.  We have a large membership overseas and across borders, but in the past year we have had some really great threads to help all understand each other better - such as the various threads that try to translate phrases and words.

So, I pose to all - overseas or here, what are some of your traditions over the holidays that you observe?  It might continue the fun education process.

All in fun and in the spirit of the holidays - no matter what holidays they are.

Peter

Great idea for a thread Peter [thumbs up]
Though I tend to steer away from traditional aspects of this time of year,( for me it is a bitter sweet time), I have lived away from the UK and enjoyed Christmas celebrations in Greece, Germany and Spain.
A big part of the UK thing is a Turkey for Christmas dinner, famously introduced from the 'new world' that was to become the United States of America!
As a child, Christmas only started when Dad finished work, usually on the 24th, then we would put up decorations and a tree. ;D
In the morning(25th) we would find a stocking (large sock) filled with sweets, fruit and some small toys or games. (Kept 9 children amused until breakfast and present opening time  ;) [laughing])
Due to the UK's diverse cultural mix I don't think any one of us could describe a pan UK tradition, but we might get a nice selection of family traditions, which would be nice to hear about. [smile]
I look forward to other replies and traditions.... including yours Peter {insert Poking Gif from tF}  [laughing]
Seasons greetings,
Rob
