To all of our existing customers, a special thank you from myself and my colleagues for choosing the Tool Nut as your Festool retailer of choice. We genuinely appreciate your patronage.

You may notice that if you visit our FestoolProducts.com website that it looks a little different now. Moving forward, it will be our ToolPros website. The same great selection of Festool, the same great customer service. The only thing that's changing is the website name.

Soon we will also be updating the URL, so update your bookmarks tohttps://www.toolpros.com  [wink]

Hey Shane,
Out of curiosity, since Festool are available directly on the ToolNut site, why the second site?
I generally order directly from the ToolNut site though I think I've also purchased from FestoolProducts.
FestoolProducts solely as a dealer for Festool at least made sense to me, but ToolPros is so close to ToolNut that it leaves me scratching my head. :)

Happy Holidays!

Great question. We have the second site because we think that Festool is a unique brand with a system-centric approach to their tool and accessory design. To make it easy to shop, we only have Festool and Festool-related items on the second site to make it easier to shop for and find what you're looking for without the distraction of other brands.

Ordering from our second site, ToolPros, is essentially no different than ordering from our ToolNut site. Behind the scenes, everything is the same.

Then why change the name festool products? That made way more sense.

Curious that Festool Products and Festool Nirvana both dropped Festool name in the last few weeks.  Wonder if this was a request from Festool?

I think you're onto something here.

Curious, indeed.  If BIS posts a similar name change to their Festool-centric site, it will likely be more than just a coincidence.

[member=48572]Shane Holland[/member] I just received my first order from Tool Pros. They elected to put an itemized list on the outside of the box with Festool, item #, and description for each item in the box. Given the price of some of this stuff that doesn't seem too smart. Can you do something to end this practice?

Thanks,
Matt

I totally get what you are saying and totally agree. To guys like us it screams "Steal Me! I'm valuable", but would the average porch pirate even know what Festool even is?

I had UPS drop a Homak tool cart on my front porch one time. Full color picture on the box, turned right toward the street! Really? It must have just happened too, because I did get it inside before it grew wings. Since then, I have everything delivered to my work, even if it's not for work.
The lady in the shipping/receiving area takes very good care of it. She has been surprised by a few bicycle parts suppliers, before getting to know me. LOL and has learned to check the name on random Amazon boxes, because I'm not the only one to do it, especially since the pandemic.

[member=65062]DynaGlide[/member] let me check on this Monday and follow up. Thanks for the feedback. Always appreciated.

ETA - Sorry I was traveling yesterday and responding from my phone on a plane, apologies for being so brief.

Thanks Shane. Struck me as odd as I've never seen this happen with any purchase before. Hopefully it was a one off occurrence and not the norm.

I just received another package. Itemized list on the outside again, this time a Woodpeckers triangle w/ PN.

[member=65062]DynaGlide[/member] Matt, thanks for the feedback again. I wanted to reach out to my collages before responding. We are suuuuuuuuuuper sensitive to stolen packages or other shipment issues. It creates a poor experience for our customers, not to mention costing us time and money to resolve the problem. Since we began this process, we have not had an increase in reports of stolen packages.

We do have protections in place for our customers who report packages stolen to help them out, but that's a rarity. So, should that ever happen, we're here to help you out.

I hope that gives you some peace of mind. Ultimately, I personally think that if someone is going to steal a package, they're probably not going to take the time to read anything on the box, they're just going to snatch and run.

Happy to hear if you have any additional feedback.

Shane

Unique Photo in New Jersey used to print big motor oil labels on the shipping cartons.

My doorbell cam recently recorded a hooded porch thief silently taking a small package off my porch and walking up the street. A minute later he returned and stealthily put the opened package back. I guess he wasn’t interested in pneumatic fittings.

Well that's wild? People don't even put things back where they came from in the grocery store.

Well N.Y. thieves have scruples to observe.  [smile]  [poke]

I had a replacement Buck Knife sent to me three times before it finally reached my hands.

I had to request no Buck Knife identification on the package for that to happen.

This was before Amazon.com and porch pirates.  They all disappeared while in the possession of UPS.  A small, easily pocketed (or misplaced) package.

So I think ambiguity in packaging is a good idea.  Indeed, I would like all my equipment purchases to arrive in boxes that said “diapers” or “toilet paper” or some other item that was not worth the time or risk to steal.

I bought some precious metals once and it was delivered in a box with "Ball Bearings" marked on the outside.  I was scratching my head until I opened it up and saw what it really was.  I thought that was rather smart of the seller.

If I were a thief and saw a box that said "Festool" in big letters on the side I would just goggle that and see it would be worth taking.  If it said "Avon" I would keep on walking.
