I haven’t had any tools break or fail with the light use I put them through so far.
I bought at work and couldn’t research like I normally do.
I am a mechanic by trade, so I know what you are saying.
I don’t only own Snap On.
My box is full of different brand tools.
I am not complaining or mad, I just need to do more research before trying to save a dollar.
This CSX will be used no matter the AH.

Like minds. My most spendy mechanic tool is a Milwaukee impact. I can rebuild my engine just as well and easily as the guy with a 10k snapon box. Doesn't mean I don't want one though..

The CXS drill itself hasn't been changed or updated, just the kit with newer batteries is what is sold now. So the 1.5 kit has previous batteries and the 2.6 kit has current batteries. The numbers just reference the amp hours of the batteries.

I was under the impression they added a battery indicator level to the CXS in 2015 and increased the Chuck from 8mm to 10mm.

This makes me chuckle.

FT has guys stampeding to this "sale" and they're just dumping old inventory for what amounts to top dollar.  It's akin to the car dealer charging you full price for last years car. Sure it's new , but a year old new car is worth less on the open market.

Couple this with the fact that you can't use the 1.5Ah batt with anything else in the "system" and this thing is a turkey.  I think FT is just adding more bad taste to people's mouths with this item.

Same here.  This is the second (or third?) time I've clicked on the "Buy Now!" button in the email and found that the item was still available.  Each time I bailed out after doing the research.  I always end up deciding that I'd rather spend a little extra to get brand new, current products with the full warrantee.

New cxs is $240 without the 90 attachment which I will probably never use.
Which if bought online would be free shipping and no tax. New 2.6ah batteries
3 year warranty and returns.

I just paid $244.19 after tax for recon. No returns 1 year warranty. And 1.5ah batteries.
Plus not knowing the condition of outer casing or internals.
I missed a lot of recon tools in the beginning with slow emails, so that’s why I jumped on this one and the last one- the mfk-700

I considered buying the DTS, but the fact that it was the older EQ model discouraged me. The higher power, long life bag, and edge guard on the new model seem well worth the $60. Not to mention the full warranty and 30-day return window. And the fact that I still have a $50 voucher to use.  I do have one tool I'm considering purchasing from the recon sale, but it hasn't been offered yet...

I have the gen 1 syslite.  Still a great tool.  I still use mine everyday.

I got ts75 from the Recon sale and I’m very happy with my purchase.  It didn’t come with a guide rail, but that helped me being I already have almost every guide rail Festool makes.  It is a brand new Saw,  it’s metric but that doesn’t bother me.  Although this sale might not be right for everyone I’m happy with my purchases. The other item I purchase is a MFK700. With the discount I was able to order a zero degree base for the same price I would have purchased one new.  It also came in new condition.

Don't worry, it's probably nos, you will find yourself appreciating the right angle chuck, the new cxs models have a stiff forward/reverse switch and the balance of the cxs is much nicer with the old batteries vs the newer wide ones made for the txs.

I did the same thing as Wooden Nickel, I was in my deer blind and pulled out my phone and there it was. The CXS is what I have been waiting for. I bought it with one eye looking at my phone and the other looking for deer. After I bought, I then realized which model it was.

That being said, when I bought the domino 500, I knew it was a discontinued SKU #, but I figured hey its a domino I've got nothing to lose. I was very much right. It was a new domino(manufacture date 2/2017) in a T-loc  with an old SKU # on it. Thank you FESTOOL!

So I will wait until I get my CXS, and if its the older one being a Festool, I'm sure I will be happy.

I never realized the battery shape changed from the old CXS (which I have) and the new one- Thanks for pointing that out.  I want to get another one eventually, and I wasn't too fired up about getting this one, but now knowing this I may have to have a change of heart.  It would be nice to be able to interchange batteries between the two...

I purchased the MFK 700. It arrived in the old original style Systainer, but with a new T-LOC owners manual. I examined the router and it is absolutely pristine, then I looked at the manufacturing date...Feb 2008.  [jawdrop]

A big thanks to Shane and Tyler. I ordered a 400 recon sander and accepted Google prefill for shipping address. Turns out my street address is located in AR & South TX. I emailed the recon department but didn't get an answer so I emailed Shane, he emailed Tyler, and Tyler emailed a contact in Festool Recon Sales. My sander arrived today at my font door in Arkansas!! Outstanding service!!!!

I forgot to mention earlier that I send kudos to Tyler and Kiana in their response to a recent Festool recon sale item.

In this age of doom and gloom, for me it’s very refreshing to report when an event that starts off as being a mild annoyance can suddenly be turned into an occasion of customer satisfaction.

I purchased a recon MFK 700 that was missing several minor parts. I contacted Tyler, who contacted Kiana, who then contacted me. Kiana and I discussed the issue and 3 days later the missing parts were delivered to me...that is I received the missing parts on a Saturday!!

Let me repeat that...a 3 day turnaround for replacement parts.

Cheese , while I commend those that solved your issue and the expediency with which they carried it out; I wince that the ball was dropped by the recon team themselves.

Wasn't there a reconditioning checklist for the 700 to bring it back up to spec ?  If not why not ?  If there was, why wasn't it followed ?  Shouldn't have been any missing parts. Not like they had thousands of these to go through.

More troubling for me is that you got a ten year old "used tool" and was in a classic systainer.  That should have been disclosed at the very least.  Or , was it ?

In other news , it doesn't appear that the current offering is enticing many people and will still be available thru Monday.  I wonder if it even comes in a systainer since it doesn't specifically say.
