Festools In My Cart. Opinions.

I just recently got a ti15 basic set, threw my c15 in with it - I like the combo!  We have the milwaukee fuel impact drivers at work - nobody like the noise they make so they tend to drill with em, and drive with the milwaukee drills.  Don't ask me.  I just got to test drive (puns) the ti15 today, and I like it.  More about finesse than raw power, and while impacting its still pretty quiet.  Depends what you need it for.  For cabinet/furniture building I pre-drill then sink just a few clicks extra with the impact, so they suit me fine.

As far as the RO 125, does anyone else have experience using the 125 and the 150? My heart was kinda set on the 125 for its medium size, price and because of the youtube videos I watched along with reviews. That being said I have noticed a lot of people liking the 150 or 90 better.

As a hobbyist, I wanted to see if one Festool sander would cover my needs.  I thought the 150 was too large for my needs because I am not sanding everyday.  Also some of the areas I sand are not parallel to the floor so I was concerned about the weight of the RO150. The RO90 seems to be a great solution but I already had another delta sander to get in corners as needed and I thought it was a little too small for sanding larger areas.  I did however want a Rotex to have the dual modes of sanding.  I went with the RO125.  I have had very little need to use anything else since I purchased the RO125.  I used it a lot today sanding a miter saw stand I am making for my new Kapex.  Its a great all around sander.

I would not hesitate getting the 125 if that is want you want.  Its a great solution.

PS - I have gravitated to using Festool Granat abrasives almost exclusively.  I have lots of different grits.  With different grits of Granat and the RO125 I have been able to cover any sanding task.

I'm a hobbyist with the occasional handy man job and I'm also occasionally hired by friends and family. I won't have any huge jobs though which is why I'm leaning towards the 125. I am also seeing that people like the ETS 125 which looks amazing to me as well.

I still have not pressed the button yet though as I have decided to not get the Ti15. Now I'm shopping for $450 worth of Tanos systainers and accessories to go with my new Bosch router and Bosch IDH I'm getting instead of the Ti15.

I looked at the Ti15 as well.  Based on feedback from FOG, like you I decided against that purchase.  I went with a T18 + 3  and combined it with a CXS and Centrotec set.  This kit covers all my drilling/driving needs.

Good luck making the final decisions.

Well I ended up going with the Ro 125, Bosch IDH 2ah Kit, Tanos II systainer with Attic, Tanos III systainer (for my Bosch Colt router with plunge base) and the Bosch dust extraction kit for that same router.

Thank you all for the advice and opinions, thanks to you I think I made the right choices. Especially with going another route as apposed to the Ti15 (even though my heart was set on it). Saved a good chunk of change that allowed me to get some systainers.

This is why the FOG is so amazing. Thanks again guys.

I think your really going to like the IDH Staniam, I'm hoping to get mine in the next few weeks and I'm in the same boat as you as far as work. I love my ES 125 and RO90. I will PROBABLY get the ES150 at some point because of the larger sanding area. Happy New Year!
