I stopped in there by "accident" while on my way back from NY to KS. I took I-70 West and I like to pickup I-74 to I-72 which turns into US 36 that gets me close to home. It is always a hassle getting through the spagetti pile of roads in Indianappolis, so I looked at the map (the GPS doesn't know much) and decided to take I-465 to I-865 and then I-65 to Indiana 32 which goes straight West to I-74. Really simple.
We got on I-65 with no problem and stopped at the exit before 32 for lunch. I then got back on I-65 and got off at 32, making a left and going West. I discovered I was in the left turn lane, blocked in by other traffic and forced to turn left at the intersection. I looked up and there was this sign that said "Festool." I said, "oh, honey, that's where my tools come from. Let's stop for a visit." She just couldn't believe I didn't plan this thing.
Micheal gave us a tour of the facility and when I asked if I could look at the parallel guides, he introduced me to Brian, who showed me the guides, the T15+3, the 4mm domino cutter and some other stuff. My wife is giggling the whole time. She still couldn't believe this "happened to be right along the way." What a shop! These guys get paid to work there? Great facility and great hospitality!
With a new catalog and a Festool T-shirt, I headed west with dreams of an unlimited tool budget. I think my wife might finally understand what makes me like Festool. She held a new T15+3 battery and an old C12 battery. The T15 is so light, its a wonder it could even run a drill, let alone drive big screws. I think I'm going to have to start on her cabinets - just as soon as the parallel guides arrive.
I am hoping to be able to go to one of the future play training sessions that will be held there!
