The kapex is mine and I'll be using it this week. I was just outside testing it out. it cuts a perfect 45.0 degree angle right out of the box. I had my bosch digital angle finder out, and it was 45.0. At a 90, it was also perfect. I couldn't see the lasers in the daylight. I thought they would have been brighter. I guess I'll need to use it inside more or just not use the lasers at all.
I think the biggest thing I'll have to get used to is having the rails forward like that, and also moving the fences away when beveling past 30 deg. I do love the bevel adjustment, it was one of the biggest deciding factors when buying this saw. I was on the fence as to buy the makita for a lot less money. I opted for this as we are on a big job right now and the window trim is going to have to be perfect. I will not get rid of my 11 year old dewalt 12" slider, but for a lot of my interior and exterior trim, the Kapex will be my new go to saw.
I now have to build a nice bench for it, until I can afford the MFT/kapex bench. I currently have a home made bench for my dewalt and the new one will be even better.
I like having a work surface on the left and right, along with material support. I am probably going to get some aluminum back fencing and extend that out 4-5' on each side of the saw. most of the bench will be made out of 3/4 finish ply and some 2x material for the bottom base that will rest on horses.
I have to get the 36 mm hose now and the crown stops, those are the next accessories. the MFT will have to wait a month or two.
