Okay I got these three day ago. They seemed a little stiff. I am in awe of the quality for the money. I can stand on them, full weight, no dents. I am sure you can dent them if you jump on them.

Bright Yellow goes with my DeWalt routers and are 12 foot by 1 - 1/2". They are stiff walled, but somewhat flexible in the snake like motion.

I do not know if they are AS, they are  NOT advertised as such, but this hose does not shock me on my drum sander, weird or what?

It's at the link below and only a little less that 27.00 and FREE shipping. At the very least this is a nice back up hose. I am fitting two of these to the boom arms today. Especially with the router the bigger size is better then the standard 1" hose. And the super flexible 1" is not required for a router anyway. At least the way my hoses go straight up to the boom arm and not sideways.

I will let you know how they work after a month or so. So wait for me to work with them to see if the initial impressions hold true. Or go for it and let me know what you think.

Yellow Vacuum Hose

Nickao,

I checked out the link that you posted.  How long did it take you to get yours?  The link says that it usually ships in 1 to 2 months.  Please let us know how it works out for you.

so Nick, how did this yellow hose work out for you with your Festools?
Thanks,
Eric

Um I think he sold them all... see classifieds.  [poke] J/K Nicko.  [big grin]

LOL

or he lost them in his huge garage.  Seems like he finds things every week to sell.  Must be nice to find all that stuff just laying around.

Actually, I did not sell them and they are sitting in the basement on a shelf. I don't think I will sell them though, not worth it and they are very nice.

Looks like the price of the hose went up 10.00, it's still well worth it.

Talk about bringing back a thread from the dead. It seems once a year someone comments on this.

They work fine, I mean a hose is a hose other than I do not believe they are Anti static. Still, I never noticed much static(actually none) from them, but it was connected to my boom arm, that's how I used them.

They  hold up way better than the Festool 1 1/4" hoses, probably about the same durability as the Festool 50 mm hoses I have. Out of the Festool hoses I think the 50mm are their best(as far as durability) and I use them wherever I can.

If the yellow hoses at the link for 10.00 more are the same as what I purchased in 2008 I would definitely get them if you need hoses that are 1 1/2".

My hoses from 08 were on my first boom arm for 2 1/2 years and still look brand new. The Festool hose on the other boom has some kinks and it seemed to get mushy or oval shape, still works fine though.

I actually had to replace the Festool hose I sold with one boom arm set with a newer Festool hose because I just could not in good conscience sell it as almost new(even though it really was). The smaller Festool hoses just seem to wear faster, they still work but definitely look older and kind of mushy, as I said earlier. I do go through the Festool 1 1/4" hoses faster than any other hose.

I still have one CT 33 and Festool Boom arm set for sale too.

Did you use the fittings that came on those yellow hoses, or did (could) you cut the ends off and put festool anti static hose fittings on.

That's the million dollar question, I'll assume that they do.....

Are others having problems with the durability of the hoses?  I've been quite impressed at how well our vac hoses have held up on the jobsite.  They get walked on and get stuff dropped on them and all sorts of other hard use.

The Dustless hose and hose cuffs look very similar to the Mr. Nozzle hose and the cuff that fits shop vacuums.  I have the Mr. Nozzle hose which is top notch, but the 2 1/4 hose cuff when cold cracks easily when dropped on concrete.  Nearly all of mine are cracked so I tried fitting a Festool D36 hose cuff to the Mr. Nozzle hose with no luck.  The Mr. Nozzle is about .100" too big.  Replacement hose cuffs for the Mr. Nozzle are hard to find and not inexpensive at about $9-$10 each.  I wouldn't mind paying that much if I knew they weren't going to crack.

I too would like to know if the Festool hose ends will fit the Dustless hose.  Anybody know?

Marcus
