Finally - The First of the FogWear

October 1.

Going to be fast and furious.  Kicking it into gear.

My guess.  Four hours or less.

If you weren't around at the finish of the Fogtainers offering, you stick around for this.  Guys on the West Coast might have to get up a little earlier, but heck, the coffee maker won't mind.  [wink]

Hi Peter

A Few questions,

will each member be limited to 1 or more caps.

if the demand far outstrips the supply will another run be made available.

thanks

The cost will be $16 US plus shipping for FOG members.  Shipping costs via Priority Mail will be $6 - $10 estimated for US customers.

You guys need to tell me if you think that the total quantity is too low or quantities should be limited.  I have an email into the supplier asking about increasing quantities.

My reasoning for a smaller quantity:
1.  In the poll that was posted earlier this year the interest in hats was amongst the lowest of the potential items.
2.  The minimum order is about double of what was indicated in the poll.
3.  Members during the Fogtainer project mentioned that they hoped that items would be limited edition type - not a constant item.
4.  Coming later will be shirts and other stuff.  I don't want to saturate the market nor create the situation if a member can only get one item - it will have to be a hat.
5.  I don't want to be giving away hats as Christmas and birthday presents for the next few years - although they would be a great gift idea  [thumbs up].

If you want me to create a new poll regarding the hats and delay the start for a week, just post it here and let me know and I will do one after work today.  If you are in Europe and would love to join in on a combined shipment and then redistribution - let me know.  I might know of a member who would help.

I would love to have these made and gone so that members will have them for the holidays and also possibly avoid the shipping headaches of mid to late December.

Speak up Foggers!

I'm in, but just need to remember Saturday morning.

Hi Peter

I see your reasoning for the limited run but if I were interested I would want to buy more than one. maybe other members would buy more than one. maybe a quick poll to see how many people would buy more than one. or is it just me...............again.............. [doh]

Saturday 10 AM, man Peter talk about learning lessons from Festool. I try to remember as little as possible for saturdays because it doesn't typically matter. That's when I get told what I will be doing  [big grin]. For what its worth in figuring your count, I'll be ordering 3.
Overall I'm thinking the 120 might be a little light. 150-175 might be a little safer once you figure in the overseas guys. Just my stupid guess though.
Thanks, Peter  [big grin] [big grin] [big grin]

Peter, I know you don't like the idea of people prepaying for items but that could work out so we can get all the hats needed and you don't get stuck with extras.  How about you start excepting prepaid orders now through the weekend and then that's it.

I will do another poll.  And push the ordering date back one week to the following Friday.  And make it a two day ordering period with a firm cut-off.  That way we can have the excitement of the final count down like last time. And start an ordering thread and separate that from this.

My supplier has explained that I can order in dozens after the minimum.  I thought that the next increment was higher.  In other words You can get all the hats you want if you order in that two day window.

I will also contact a buddy in the Uk and try and twist both arms to help out with logistics there.

P.S.  I did check into larger sizes.  I would need to do a separate order and get 144 of those.  I don't see that as feasible.  Sorry.

P.P.S.  Remember that I try to throw good surprises at you.  Had a great email yesterday that has me dancing around like MacGyver when he sees a Fogtainer.

P.P.S.S. - Yes, I am a pushover for you guys and gals.   [big grin]

Peter

That sounds like a really good plan, Peter.

I'm not sure if you gave this info previously, but do you have information from the hat manufacturer as to North American or European sizing specs and what qualifies as a "fat head"?

If I remember correctly, these are sized up to 57 centimeters.  For those in NA conversion will be required.

A Friday night and Saturday night hawking FOGwear counting down to some outrageous number.  FUN!!!!!!
