To make a short story long, I was at Home Depot a couple of weeks ago and noticed they had the multimaster starter set for $179. I couldn't tell by the shelf tag if it was a sale or clearance and it was still $199 on their website, so I decided to go back to the store and check the price later.

I went back today and the price was $129!!!  I thought about buying all they had and selling them on eBay, but I just bought one to replace my older one.

I don't know if all the stores are clearancing them off or just some of them, but that's a great price since they are rarely discounted.

Happy shopping,
Tom

i just checked the website, $199. I didn't know the borg even carried Fein! maybe I will pop into my local tomorrow and see what up.

Anyone know if there are multimaster inserts for the T-Locs?

Inserts are available for T-locs atleast from Gerschwits and I think I've seen them on ebay as well. The insert cost someting like 8€ and fits a T-loc 2.

Harry    I got one from Japan Wodworkers, although it did take abut 4 weeks for it to arrive. I would check with tem and see if they have it in stock before ordering it

I am in MA.  HD started to carry the MM start maybe last fall or so.  Bring a 10% off lowes moving coupon and get another bit off.

I was able to get the  Fein at my HD for $129. They still had it priced at $199. They had two left. I told them that another HD had clearanced them for $129. They matched it.

I've been checking my Home Depot every week or so to see if they were going to reduce the price any further. They came down another $10 for quite a while then I went in today and they had them priced at $49.03!!!!

At that price I had to buy the last one on the shelf. I figured I would sell it on eBay or give it to my dad as a retirement gift.

At that price, I'd get one even though I still have my old style one just to get the easy fasteneing type.  But I don't know if they discounting them in Canada yet.

The ones HD was selling are the soft  bagged set. I just checked the packaging .... it is called the Start Q .  It is the quick release version.

A few weeks ago I also had a nice deal on a fein tool. One of my tool dealers was clearing out old stock, and they also had a bunch of 125 mm fein angle grinders all priced at 90 €.
One of them was an evo version, with tipstart, softstart, bladebrake and quick-in toolless bladechange, (which normally has a RRP of 220 €) The only difference with the current model is that those come with an antivibration sidehandle.

It's like the one in this video, but then with a paddle and a low profile bolt instead of the spindle:

I really like it, only thing I dislike is that won't fit in a systainer.

You can also switch it on so it keeps running without holding the pads by holding one pad, and tapping another twice quickly;  If you then touch another pad, it's back into deadmanswitch mode.

How about diagonally with the disk removed?

Yes, that would be the only way, but I briefly held it above a systainer, and it looked like the cord would then be in such a position it wouldn't last long. (Plus, allthough they call it "quickin", the toolless bladechange isn't that quick, I do like the lower profile with no spindle sticking out)

I'm going to check if they have inlays for the fein cases and get one of those. And I'm still hoping there will be another systainer trade-in deal soon, and re-asses when I'm switching to T-locs. (I missed two, one was at a store too far away, and when one of my local dealers had it (trade your old systainer in, and get a T-loc the same size for 25€ or so) they had limited stock and were gone before I got there.
