I had a deep scratch in a  corian countertop that sanded out pretty easily: ets150/3 with 150, 220 and a brown scotchbrite type pad. It is not quite back to match the original color. What is the right abrasive to get me there? I am thinking maybe a platin?

What is the current finish? Slight haze might be 500. Polished is polished.

A clear photo is worth a thousand words.

I found that 150/220/300/400/600/800 was a good schedule to get a Corian finish that was clear and reflective but not with high gloss.  The downside is that each step higher in grit level leaves a surface that is more revealing of scratches from everyday wear and tear.

Lots of good info here. Thanks guys. The observation about scratches becoming more evident is on the mark. It actually goes pretty fast so sanding the whole surface is easier than trying match new to old.
