First Aid Systainer?

I just got mine on Monday and it looks great.  I did wish they used a more permanent product sticker on the front like all their other tools.  I guess with the + latches they figure it's not needed.

Permanent product sticker??? Where have you seen these?

Every festool product box I have has the stupid labels peeling off of them.

Ive given up in some cases, others, put a little clear packing tape on the edges.

For as much as they cost and as long as they've been in business, you'd hope they'd put labels on the systainers that don't peel right off in a couple years.

The label on my first aid sys was peeling when I unpacked it! Oh well. The new T-Locs solve the problem, right?

I just unpacked my Firstainer, it looks great.
It was packed unbelievably in a box about three times its size covered in bubble wrap and paper.
I hope I don't need it too often.
Thanks Uncle Bob!

Hope you don't need it either, Tom. We overpack for a reason. BTW, great seeing you at JLC.

The revelation I had the other day was that the stickers are designed to come off cleanly. I think ze chermans intend for you to take them straight off. Let's put it this way, they built a robotic bird this year, I think if they wanted the stickers to stay on, they would have used the proper adhesive for that application.

Had the same thought.

Fritter, you really want to keep it up top?  Expecting to use it much?  It may be a bad omen.  I'd bury the thing at the bottom.

That's a load of crap - quit making excuses for poor product label design.  A company that packages ALL of their tools in identical cases would be crazy to design the case labels to be easy to come off.  This is not a  frying pan we're talking about here.  Festool's not crazy, they just make crappy labels that fall off the cases they were designed to stick to.

Jeez - you guys could be sold a router that only would only cut 1/2" deep holes and be happy about it.

Festool had admitted to me they made a mistake trying to figure out an adhesive that would make the masses happy for the strips on the guide rails.  They were hoping for a good balance between staying power and easy replacement.  Maybe the same adhesive has been used on the systainer labels.  Maybe it's been the plan all along to get people pissed off at the labels so they'll want to convert, spending more money buying the T-lock models.  We'll probably never know.  They are human and not immune to goofs in the design.

I'm counting on inverse murphy's law to keep me safe!

(last time I actually got hurt in the shop, I didn't need a bandaid, just a big bag of ice and wishing 'id worn an athletic cup...)
