I love my Festool drill.  I don't love that the charger stopped working.  The repair guys said its a "solid state board" and can't be fixed.  So it's being recycled.  So I have 3 batteries that work, a drill that works, but they are all dead because the charger doesn't work.  I have Bosch, Dewalt, and Milwaukee batteries, and they ALL still work.  This is rather discouraging.  Anyone have any last ditch ideas????  I have had some great ideas here in the past.

Unless flames came out of it: Try a different repair guy.

A long living local Radio/TV repair shop usually can do stuff like that for reasonable cost, dead chargers are usually a problem of dead condensators in the power supply part - or a blown fuse.

How old is it?  25 years?  Why not just give/send it to somebody deserving, who still has an operational charger.  I did this with a bit of my surplus Festo gear some time ago - on another (local to me) forum.

Of course, you could try to sell it through the classified section, but given it's age & the fact that it doesn't/shouldn't actually owe you anything, it would be good karma to gift it.  I'm sure some deserving North American soul would be only too pleased to augment his or her ageing CDD fleet, & would maybe offer to reimburse postage.

I gave my own CDD set to a niece about 20 years ago when the batteries started to lose capacity.

Yes, I agree.  That's how it will probably end up.  But I was hoping someone had a CDD charger that might be available.  festool kept the charger as I was not going to pay to ship it back.  In the end, if I can't find a charger, I will do just that.  BTW, it is 15years old and i used it a lot.  But I still get bugged that none of my other chargers have gone bad in similar time frame....Bosch, Milwaukee and Dewalt....

Are you talking about a MC 15 charger for 12V nicad batteries? That is the chargers I have for my CDD 12 volt drills.

Same here.  It was a bit of a weird one, too.  It was truly "superfast" - a genuine 15 minutes, & had a second port for "other manufacturers' batteries".  My Bobbie Bosch GSR 12 batteries fitted the second port, but all it managed to do was kill 'em stone dead!  Ouch!

That other 10.8v charger shown won't do the job at all.  Wrong voltage, wrong chemistry.  You could do worse than ask around for another old redundant MC15 in the classifieds perhaps?

I had a Bosch charger go bad. I was referred to the warehouse manager and he actually found one, the last one.

If the circuit board in your charger has discret components, a good electronics shop might be able to get it working.

I sort of have the opposite problem,  I have the drill and charger but the battery is shot.  They have been sitting in my shop for years.  I've not found batteries for it.  It is a M15 charger for the 12 v CDD 12FX.

The last time I saw batteries for it was Tool Nuts a few years ago had them for $80-$90.00.  I have other drills that i use.
