I'm wrapping up my first kitchen.  Actually it was a kitchen, two bathrooms, a laundry room and hall cabinets.  The entire process has been a huge learning experience for me.  I still have to build the island but everything else is done.  I think I used every Festool I owned on this job at some point or another.

Done good job their mate.

I take it the Client doesn't like or need worktop space lol.

EDITED:  You just added more pictures after I posted the comment above?! Little bit  more worktop area

Real nice!    How long did it take you to complete the job?  And did you have any help?
Did you built everything? Doors/drawers?

Thanks.  I've been working on this for about two months.  I did have some help installing the boxes and I had a buddy come over and install a bunch of the drawer slides.  I outsourced about 1/3 of the boxes but did everything else in my garage.  I thought about outsourcing the doors but decided not to.

Russell,
Beautiful work and a lot of work.  I'd love to hear more about your finishing schedule sometime. Congratulations on a job well done!

Joe

Thanks Joe.  The finishing schedule was a bear.  I sanded everything to 180 first.  Stain was SW.  I topped the stain with a light coat of dewaxed shellac/denatured alcohol.  The doors and drawer fronts then got a black glaze.  I finished everything with 2 coats of WB lacquer.  I started with Target EM6000, ran out and had to use Valspar's WB pre cat.  I have to say that the coat of shellac over the stain really made the grain pop soooo much more than just going over the stain with the lacquer.

russell,

great looking job... and I bet it was a learning experiance!  and each time you do one you get better and better and you get to buy more festools !

Very nice work!
Do you have any pictures of the cabinets without the doors on?

Classy.  Very Classy.  The finish is beautiful.  I would call in Mediterranean is that right?

So what do you think about the experience in general?  I'm about to start my first for-profit kitchen.

I installed the island this last weekend, it is the last part of this job.  I would've had things wrapped up a little sooner but I had to go see Rice get inducted in Canton [big grin].  The legs and corbels are from Osborne.  Sorry, the pictures aren't that good.
