I got my table extensions second hand, and was sort of horrified to find that they sat noticeably lower than the bed of the saw:

While it wasn't an issue on longer cuts, it did pose problems with shorter boards whose ends terminated on or just past the extension. I just figured out a very simple fix, however. It may not be universal, depending on how off your respective extensions are, but you can use the same principle employing shim stock of varying thickness. Very simply, I just inserted three small, thin washers between the plastic piece that fits in the V-groove of the Kapex and the extension itself:

The washers are slightly thicker than the actual gap, but tightening them down ended up bringing the extensions into perfect alignment with the saw bed:
