FLIP Ultra hd camera

Im coming out to Disney later this year and thought I would treat myself to a new video camera I spotted this the Flip Ultra HD camera the best price UK side is around GBP 120 ($186) does anyone have one of these are they any good ? Also do you think it would be better if I buy one while im in Orlando would it be cheaper and is it exactly the same as a UK one ?

I have one and had gotten my dad one for christmas. The quality is great and it's very easy to use. Negatives: virtuallynp zoom and mediocre in low light. I think it's a winner for the price.

Charges off of USB so that shouldn't be true. May want to consider the sales tax in Orlando though.

I've been very happy with mine, especially for the money. Shane's right on about low light, though.

Right now at a large electronics store in Orlando they are normally 199 USD on sale for 145 USD.  Then you have sales tax of 7 percent.  So you are up to about 155 USD.  Do you have to pay VAT when you get back? 

Usually when the reductions are so great that means a new model is coming out soon.  Just FYI.

Oops.  It is unusual for Bestbuy to reduce that drastically if they aren't trying to clear out stock.  When I bought my HD camcorder at a similar discount, the next month the new models were out with similar or better features for less than what I spent.

Pretty useless for my kids Poms routines for the half time show at the football games(normally at night).. Unless there is a lot of light and you are very close it's not very good. If you are in the house taking pics of the kids opening gifts in a lighted room it is really nice. Alas, mine broke after about 90 days or so, must have got a lemon.

Cheers guys, yeah I think there is a slide flip coming out not sure when its similar to the Nokia phones that slide out.

I am thinking I will have to get a Netbook now too as I will fill up the flip in no time on holiday I bet, I can then transfer the videos to a netbook.

The Dell mini looks good at gbp 269 1gb memory, 250Gb hard drive etc etc.

I have a Flip Mino HD and a Kodak Zi8.

Both nice little cameras.  One thing that some people don't consider is that if you go HD, make sure you have a computer that's powerful enough to edit. display and work with HD files.  A 5 year old notebook computer will most likely not cut it.

I have ordered a Kodak playsport in the end . I watched the gadget show last night and they did a test and the new flip slide didnt do well but the Kodak came first. It s waterproof, more rugid and better in low light.

Thats a supprise Kodak have been making really rubbish cameras recently even the sony mobile phone cybershot made better pictures than some kodaks.

I own the Panasonic DMC water proof camera at the moment brilliant camera really for the price.
