Nice work by Eiji, as expected ;D . Cool benches Chris and quality Checkers frank.
I also liked Brice's desk (both functional and aestetically pleasing) for a local child for whom things have been difficult, it is always nice to do things for those in your comunity who will benefit from a heartfelt gesture. [thumbs up]

As a follow up to this contest, I found out the other day that the tools I donated in my box are also being used to help out another organization. A local firm purchased 2000 boards from the Coney Island boardwalk when it was redone. The wood is teak. Full 2 inches thick x 12 inches wide x 16 feet long. That firm has hired the local high school marching band to remove the stainless steel screws. They will be paid 8 US dollars for each board. The money will be used for uniforms, etc.
There is talk of a second batch in the works.

I would hate to think about the number of planer blades they will go thru! The wood is gourgeous when .125 inch is planed off. The recycler paid them about 350 dollars for the screws extracted the first weekend. They have a dad who welded up a vise grip contraption that grips around the screw head and fits into a drill. Apparently the heads have some wear. I can only imagine that based on the age that the screws are slotted.

Eiji: Wow. There is a very happy set of children that will be using your puppet theater for years to come.
Frank: Beautiful piece you've done too. I hope I remember this thread sometime in the future when I have some spare time to do something in the garage/shop.
