A review of the Forum rules and guidelines over the past few weeks revealed that some aspects were not addressed and other definitions were grey.  We have made modifications that we feel better define expectations and that will assist in keeping the Forum beneficial and enjoyable to members and visitors alike.

Never seen a "Yelling" advisory before.  I like that actually, because doing a sentence or entire post in caps is no different than I was taught in business writting class many years ago, the equivalent to being written in red ink, which also is meant to denote anger/frustration.

I would assume that using it in a manner of word emphasis in a non-threatening context is OK?

eg:  ....so when you stick your fingers in between the fan blades to remove the obstruction MAKE SURE THE UNIT IS UNPLUGGED FIRST.....

Not trying to be a smart-alec here, just wondering if this kind of capitalization would be a no-no as well, as I tend to use capitalization often in that fashion myself when trying to single out an important aspect when explaining stuff.

Kevin,

I have used the capitalization as you have described to bring attention versus using it as shouting.  The context of the post will assist in the translation.  Common sense shall prevail.
