here are all the pics I have of the chairs. Legs are 1 1/4" square, backs are 1 1/2" by 3". All table saw cut tenons, mortises cut on a router jig. Seats are held on by typical woodcraft "table top" fasteners which screw into bottom of seat and fit into slots in frame.
All QS white oak, middle slats are just stained in dark walnut. The Macintosh style motif's were drilled out with a forester bit, then I chopped them square with a chisel.
They're sturdy, my son broke his nose while swinging into one on the curtains (inspired by the Spiderman movie) on his 3rd birthday.
