Fritz and Franz Jig for the Sliding Table Saw

If you have a sliding table saw, this is a must have jig if you do small work.  While I tailored this for my needs, there are plans available for the Fritz and Franz jig on the German Festool website in the magazine issue Holzidee 13.

This is my version of the jig:

What an awesome idea. As long as one has the sliding table or table saw with the slot this looks great. I've never seen clamping both the front and back of a workpiece before and would presume it could cause problems if it moved, and the offcut is trapped between the blade and fence, but from your video and another I have seen it appears a great way to secure timber and get a repeatable small offcut done quickly and easily. I'm keen on trying this at some stage. I'm surprised it isn't used more often.

Great jig and video showing how it works.  Never heard of the jig before, but then again never looked at sliders.  Your slider looks like a fantastic machine.

The RUWI looks interesting.  I will have to check this out at this years IWF. 

I have completed the stop blocks and the scale.  These tee tracks worked very well as the stop blocks glide very easily across the 3 raised ribs.  At this point, I wonder why I waited so long to make this jig - very useful and versatile.

Steve, Martin USA offered a special buy of the RUWI last Fall. Its was only $675.00 LOL. That only about $1000.00 CDN. I made my F&F in about an hour with about $30.00 of materials including the adjustable stops. It replaced a couple of jigs I previously used and gets used almost everyday.

As I was watching the vid, I was thinking a jig like that wood be great on my CMS with the sliding extension.  Only the CMS doesn't have any T-track

Ouch!- I guess I missed out on that bargain.  The only things I didn't have on hand were the tee tracks and adhesive scale.  I spent about $24 on those.  I made my own stops out of scrap and it is very useful as a parallel fence for hardwoods.

Exactly what I was thinking Tinker. I guess we'll need to be a little bit creative and come up with a solution for the CMS's sliding table. I'm sure there's a way to create it, just not sure how I'm gonna do it yet.[unsure]

Unfortunately the Fritz and Franz is more suited to a larger sliding table surface to use and reference from. The CMS really doesn't seem to have the requirements. While nice in design its still a cabinet saw style. Its good that the jig gave you inspiration to see if you can adapt it to your situation.
