Fully Loaded MFT

Wanted to share my setup as most of the inspiration has come from this forum....Specifically the BF/MFT and Matthew Byington's build. Here are the highlights:

18MM BB Throughout
Rockler Bases
6" Casters
SYS VAC Integrated
Stationary Boom Arm
MIDI/CYCLONE
SYS AZ Drawers
2m Rails
3 MFT Tops aligned with Dominos
Parf Fences

In all, its been a really fun project, its very dialed in and all cuts have been coming out dead square, something I struggled with when it was the base MFT. Thank you again for all the great posts and ingenuity in this forum!

very nice. What rockler bases did you use? 28" or 32" height?  how did you mount casters to the rockler base?  I'm in the process of doing something similar and looking for ideas.

Can you elaborate on the Vac Sys module holder design? 
What is the purpose of having both leg supports and casters?  Don't you have to reset each support if you want to move the table?
Is this in a garage?  What kind of flooring is that?

Thank you! I used the 28", overall height of table is just under 38". The casters are actually mounted to the cabinet itself on the bottom panel using some 36mm blocks I made.

What is the purpose of having both leg supports and casters?  Don't you have to reset each support if you want to move the table?

Mike, Thank you!

-The sys vac mounts are very similar in size to the contouro ones. I made them so as you see in the picture the heads are below the surface of the table. When I want to use them, I simply slide them up and use the vacuum feature on the base. They stay right in place and they are 1" above the surface of the table.

-You do have to reset each of the adjustable feet if you move it, but that was my intent. If I crank them up, the whole unit rests on (8) 6in casters and rolls very nicely. However, when on casters only there is some wobble to the whole assembly, from the bearings in the caster plate. I don't move it often, but if needed, I can, and crank the feet down after to level everything and have an incredibly solid base.

-This is my garage, and it is a stone tile. I live in Italy currently and this is very common in garages. It cleans super easy and glue on the floor is no issue!

Could you elaborate on the "2m Rails" and show some more pictures?  I'm close to assembling a very similar bench and was planning to simply connect 2 or 3 MFT's, looks like you've got them connected using longer MFT/3 (496824) side rails if I understand from the pictures, hard to see the joins..  I'm due to receive my Dashboard guide rail support soon.

An assembly table isn’t good unless it’s flat as/in untwisted. It’s even better if it’s flat and level. You need adjustable legs to achieve those characteristics.

Love that table.
Just a thought, if you slotted the knobs at the vac-sys holder,you could raise and lower them without the suction mech.

I love your set up!  The crosscut brackets from Right Angle make a world of difference. Any table would benefit from a set. Thanks for sharing.

You are correct on the part number. I used the two long rails, and the two longest rails from the base MFT as well as the hardware / corner brackets. Ultimately added some racing underneath since the mdf will sag over time. The dashboard kit is fantastic, im sure you will love it!

Charlie, that's an awesome idea! After use I found that even with poly the vacuum bases don't suction as good as I would like so slotting them would negate even having to do that!

You did a beautiful job on this set up.  I really like the Vac-Sys piece.  I recently sold my entire Vac-Sys system but after seeing yours here, and remembering the one Matt [member=65062]DynaGlide[/member] did, makes we wish I had held on a bit longer and set mine up like this.  I loved it but it just got in the way more than it didn't.

Where did you get the Green T-track trays? I am sure they are 3D printed.
