GD D10-40 staircase drilling system

WOW  [scared] [scared] [eek] [eek]

I think we've found the most over priced offering from Festool to date! £805 for what essentially amounts to a handful of forstner bits, a clamp and an aluminium jig, that's scandalous!

Just checked multiple dealer and Festool websites. That price is correct, and actually may be slightly discounted! [scared]

Would love to understand what this set brings to the table to justify the price.

I know Festool aren't cheap, but they're also not stupid... So there must be something we're missing to justify that price.

It is a guide mechanism to drill holes in stairways for the railing.

It does seem very expensive indeed, it was already so when this set was sold under the Protool name. Keep in mind this is a product that only appeals to a very small niche market and is only produced in limited quantities. Specialist sets/tools like that often cost a lot more than tools that are produced in large quantities.

thanks Alex, yes it is expensive and for the amount of staircases i do I could not justify it, I've just got myself a MFS system and was pleasantly surprised and the build quality so this is more than likely built like a proverbial brick shed
