Ive got to fit some fairly large (and heavy) glazed units next week and was planning on getting some of those suction cup lifters to speed things along and generally help with handling. Then i thought if spend a bit more and get the geckos they might come in handy in future with the guide rails etc.

Does anyone have any experience with the gecko specifically with glass?

I dont normally deal with glass hence the question.

The units are approx 1m x 2.3m and a biggun at 2m x 2.3m

Thanks

I scavenged the windows from a neighbours house down the street when he was changing them out last year for uses in structures I need to build in my backyard.  The glass guy lent me a somewhat beat up three cup glass suction thing.  When one of the glasses I was carting over to my place using it lost its suction and almost broke on the ground, I went and got my barely used 2 cup Gecko.  Worked much better.  One of the sheets I hauled over using the Gecko was a double pane 4' X 5' that weighed a ton.  I carried it in stints about 70 feet at a time for a total of about 400 feet to my backyard.  I had no issues with the Gecko doing it.  The glass guy asked where I could buy one as well.  He liked it himself.

I've used mine successfully to remove, install and carry plate mirrors for bathroom remodels. I think the biggest I have carried was about 4' x 6' with no problems.
