Hi all,

Not sure how many of you are UK based, but

http://www.tooled-up.com/Product.asp?PID=146776

is selling the OF 1010 router for ?237.75 including VAT. Not only that, but if you fancy using this code  TWFFMAY9 , before the end of May I think (so a few days left), you'll get another 20 quid off.  So that's about 215 quid altogether.  Doesn't come with a systainer, but hey, you don't get everything, right?

Hope this is useful for someone.

Cheers,
Mac

WARNING - The reason it's cheap is that it's the OF1010 Q version, NOT the OF1010 EBQ.

This means that it doesn't have the electronic package, meaning no soft start, no constant speed control, no brake, and only 720 watts instead of power instead of 1010.....

Mac, thanks for pointing this out. It's not that great a deal, really, but thanks for trying!

Hi,

Yeah, I did notice the difference in model but I didn't realise it was THAT different. Still, it comes in at about 25% less than the festool list price, which seems like a bargain for the right user?

Mac,

Sorry - I read some of your other posts after I replied to this one - I really didn't mean to p*ss on your bonfire!

Yes, it's still a good router, and if you don't mind the lack of electronics, then great. At the end of the day, it's still Festool, and it's a quality machine. I hope the two of you will be very happy together, and that you'll be adding to the family soon!

Hi Jonny boy!

No problem, don't worry. I do appreciate you coming back with that comment though, it was a nice thing to do.

As it happens, I went for the EBQ plus job on your recommendation; bearing in mind you get a systainer thrown in it worked out at about ?50 more, which seems pretty good. I'd have ended up buying the systainer separately in a month or two anyway, I'm sure.  It's just that these things always seem to creep up and up in terms of how much you finally spend, regardless of whatever budget you originally set yourself, you know?  However, although I'm a newbie, even I know that unless you buy what you really want first time round, you always regret it and won't really enjoy whatever you did buy as much as it deserves.

So anyway, thanks again!

Cheers
Mac
